As we reflect on this season, we are incredibly proud to share that we are celebrating 10 years of service to our community.
For the past decade, it has been our profound honor to serve families throughout Sarasota, Manatee County, and the surrounding areas. What began as a commitment to provide compassionate, professional care has grown into something far more meaningful — lasting relationships built on trust, respect, and heartfelt service.
Being entrusted to guide families through some of life’s most tender moments is a responsibility we never take lightly. Each family we serve becomes part of our extended community, and we are deeply grateful for the confidence placed in us — by families past, present, and those we will have the privilege to serve in the years ahead.

When Sarasota veteran Larry Jake Willis passed away at the age of 82, the Marine died without any living relatives to mourn him. Dozens of strangers took time to pay their respects at his funeral: https://bit.ly/4kg3jzf

Thank you to all that attended and honored Marine veteran Larry Jake Willis . Mr Willis was a veteran who had no family members and was laid to rest at Sarasota National with full military honors.

Lord, may this proud Marine Larry Jake Willis find eternal rest, guarded by peace, wrapped in honor and held in the arms of a grateful nation.

Dec 23, 1942-May 26, 2025 served his country with honor, but when he died, no one claimed him. Sound Choice Cremation is providing a dignified burial he deserves, complete with full military honors.

The public and media are invited to attend.

Where and when does cremation take place?

Cremations occur is a special furnace called a cremation chamber or retort, commonly referred to as a crematory.

Cremation can only take place after the cremation authorization has been signed by the individual(s) legally authorized to sign the document, and once the cremation permit has been issued by the medical examiner.
