Hi, I’m Meg Young, LCSW

I became a therapist after seeing how trauma and chronic stress shape our lives. I knew in high school that I would be a Social Worker. Over the years I’ve walked alongside first responders, healthcare workers, and other high-achievers as they’ve faced anxiety, PTSD, and burnout and I’ve seen (and know personally) how healing is possible.

My passion is helping you find calm, clarity, and confidence again, using tools like EMDR to gently release what your nervous system is holding.

When the world feels noisy and unpredictable, it’s easy for our minds and bodies to carry that chaos.

That’s where therapy—especially EMDR—can be a powerful anchor.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) helps your nervous system process stressful experiences so you can feel more grounded, resilient, and at ease—no matter what’s happening outside.

Therapy isn’t just for crises. It’s part of staying healthy, like a tune-up for your mind and heart.

Curious how EMDR might help you? Join me for a free “Getting to Know Me” call on Tuesday Oct 7 at 12:00 PM.
It’s a relaxed space to ask questions, learn how I work, and see if we’re a good fit.

“I don’t have time to deal with all this.”

I hear this a lot from therapists, nurses, paramedics, and first responders; people who carry everyone else’s pain and put their own last.

You’re not wrong to think this. You’re busy and you’re needed - at home and work. But here’s the truth: Not dealing with it IS costing you time. Just in ways you’ve learned to ignore.

Let’s break it down:
1. You’re spending energy managing the fallout anyway: Short fuse. Trouble sleeping. Feeling numb with your family. That’s not “fine.” That’s just survival mode; and it’s eating away at your time and peace.

2. This isn’t about lying on a couch for years: I use focused tools: EMDR, IFS, somatic work, and EFT to help your body release what it’s been carrying. No endless talking. No getting stuck.

3. You don’t have to fall apart to do the work: You're high-functioning, not immune. You can stay grounded and process trauma safely. In fact, that’s the whole point.

4. One 50-minute session can reset your entire week, or go deeper with a 90-minute or full-day intensive. There are options because your life doesn’t pause, and healing needs to work with that.

5. Guilt isn’t a reason to avoid care. It’s a sign you need it: You’ve been trained to believe others come first. But you can’t keep pouring from an empty nervous system.

You’re not broken. You’re overloaded. We can work with that in-person or virtually with body-based trauma therapy such as EMDR.
