I’ve had the pleasure of helping my grandfather with some problems he’s been having that progressed over a couple of months and weren’t going away. As he left the office today he thanked me as usual and without missing a beat my instinctive response was “I just want to keep you around as long as possible”.

Cue the waterworks 😭😆
But it just really reinforced in me why taking care of your health is so important. Its not just for you but for those that love you, that depend on you, that just want you around as long as possible and at your best.
Dealing with an injury or something that’s limiting you physically doesn’t just affect you physically, it’s mentally draining, emotionally frustrating. And it can be rooted in much more than just fitness or sport- keeping up with your kids or grandkids or great-grandkids, working on your farm to provide, taking care of your garden because a beautiful yard brings you joy, playing golf with your friends and nurturing those social relationships, competing in the Olympics and representing your country on the world stage.
So whenever you get frustrated with the process, remember your why. Remember what’s important to you and let it drive you to continue working on yourself, you’re worth it!
