It's flu season! Did you know that the flu shot was created in the 1930s to protect American troops during World War II? Every year, it is updated to match the most common strain of the flu virus.
For most of us, getting the flu would mean a few days in bed, but for vulnerable groups like elderly people, babies, and pregnant women, the flu can be severe and even deadly. Getting the annual flu shot protects people in our community who are at risk, and means that if you do get the flu, you won't feel as sick!
