✨YIN & SOUND HEALING w/ Kerry Tice

The workshop begins with a combination of yin yoga and sound healing. We'll start with an accessible 45-minute yin practice accompanied by Tibetan singing bowls, sacred mantra chanting, the steel tongue drum, ting-sha, and other sound healing instruments.

The latter part of the workshop features a sound bath following the Swambayu Method, providing an unforgettable experience immersed in beautiful sounds. While each person's experience of a sound bath varies, you're likely to enjoy feelings of peace, deep relaxation, rejuvenation, and an acceleration of your own inward journey.

Kerry utilizes Tibetan singing bowls from Thailand and specializes in sound healing techniques that create a space of vibrant vibration and heightened awareness. Some participants have reported that sound baths help heal physical injuries and release emotional traumas.

Your brain strengthens what you practice most.

Because of neuroplasticity, the brain constantly rewires itself based on repeated thoughts and behaviors. The neural pathways you activate most often become stronger and easier to access over time.

When complaining becomes a frequent habit, you repeatedly activate circuits involved in problem detection and threat awareness. The brain adapts by becoming more efficient at scanning for flaws, frustrations, and disappointments. This pattern is connected to what psychologists call negativity bias, the tendency to focus more on negative experiences than positive ones.

Each complaint can act like a rehearsal. Research in cognitive psychology shows that repetitive negative thinking is linked to higher stress hormone levels, including cortisol. Over time, this may reduce emotional resilience and make it harder to access balanced or optimistic interpretations of events.

However, the same plasticity works in the opposite direction. Studies on cognitive training and gratitude practices suggest that intentionally shifting attention toward solutions or appreciation can gradually strengthen alternative neural pathways.

The brain is not fixed. It responds to repetition.

What you focus on consistently becomes the pattern your brain expects. And over time, that pattern shapes how you experience everyday life.

Body Heat Yoga Studio is the only yoga studio in Sarasota that offers both 90min Bikram yoga classes, Hot Vinyasa Flow yoga classes, and Yin yoga classes.

Owner Kelly Prince opened the studio in July 2007 to create yoga classes for everyones b.o.d.y & where everyone can practice yoga in comfort. All of our yoga classes are held in warm temperatures to create detoxification, stretch muscles and receive a cardiovascular workout as well.

Most students start yoga classes with us to achieve physical gains, which happen quickly. However, we are confident that our students will improve beyond physical goals with improved clarity, focus and discipline. You will learn to let go and practice from your heart, and your body will follow. Our yoga classes are for everyone’s body and mind, whether you’re a beginner or well into your yoga practice. We offer the best prices in town, a great location near I-75 and teachers who are trained, certified and committed to you, your yoga practice and experience.
