THE GATHERING

Residents gathered together in their best costumes to celebrate Halloween. Congress Hall was transformed by the staff into a Halloween Cave. There was live music, all kinds of finger foods and drinks for everyone to enjoy. The staff dressed up as well to join in the fun.

There was a costume contest and prizes were handed out. There were even dogs dressed up as skunks, for their own little parade at the desk, which was hilarious. For many new residents, this was their first time to attend our Halloween Party. Everyone had a fantastic time and there was plenty of laughs to go around.

Special thank you to the Chefs for the delicious foods, the managers and the housekeeping staff who helped decorate the place. It was a team effort. Amy the Dir. of Activities pulled off one heck of a ghoulish good time.

THE HAUNTING

It is that time of year, with the leaves gone on the trees, black cats crossing your paths and the stories of Halloween hauntings. Residents went on a tour of the Canfield Casino in Saratoga Springs. The staff of the casino have reported over the years that there are many unusual paranormal activities that occur. The location was featured on television by Ghost Hunters and was listed #4 by the Travel Channel for most terrifying places in America for hauntings.

This was a true halloween experience for members of Prestwick Chase. We are happy to report they all returned and no ghosts got them!! Thank you to the staff of the Canfield Casino for this intriguing experience.

Kellie (far left), our General Manager, accompanied 11 residents on a cruise from Boston, MA to Montreal, Quebec for a trip of a lifetime! Gail (far right), who was aboard for the adventure, shares more about her experience.

GAMES GALORE

There is so many opportunities to get involved in all kinds of games at Prestwick Chase. Residents enjoy gathering in different locations around the property to play games, relax and simply have fun!

Whether its mixed Billiards Leagues, Poker Groups, Bridge, Mexican Train, Shuffleboard or Mahjong, there is something for everyone. There are even days that members board our Mercedes Shuttle and go to Strike Zone for bowling outings.

Here at Prestwick Chase, there is no shortage of fun activities both in house and out. There are even residents who help introduce newer individuals into the game groups, who might still feel a bit shy. We love that residents do this, because at some point, everyone was new once to Prestwick Chase. Its that caring mentality to pass it forward to help others adjust and feel welcome in their new community.

Day 8: Montreal, Quebec
Last stop on the cruise, an overnight in the hotel and great ride home. Some went to the botanical gardens, a bus tour around town and of course a hockey game between the montreal Canadians and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Didn't even make it home yet and they want to know where we are going next. I think it's safe to say we had a great time!

Day 7: Quebec City: What a beautiful city. Little bit of tough getting around with all the hills and cobblestone. Another great day on vacation.

Day 6: A day at sea; Cruising the gulf of the St.Lawrence.
A wonderful relaxing day of cards, mexican train, trivia, checking out the art on the ship and of course a cocktail.
