UPDATE: New Time:
10:30 AM with a toast at 11AM

Hello, I hope this post is not too disturbing in its unexpectedness.

This is Jim Pirri, M'elle's brother. I'm sad to report, as most of you probably know, my sister passed in early July.
In addition to being an awesome sister, she was an amazing healer.
And as such, I would like to invite any of her patients, friends, or colleagues who want to help celebrate and memorialize M'elle to her memorial on
Saturday morning,
September 21 at 10:30Am with a toast at 11 AM at one of her favorite places, The Local Pub and Tea House , a block away from her office in Saratoga Springs.

Please come by and help us celebrate, mourn, and find strength in our mutual love for our dearly beloved M'elle.

Be well,
Jim

Last night I was talking to my brother about body image. I currently shop for clothes mostly on-line. This is due in part to not owning a car but also because I hate the way I look in the harsh light and horrible mirrors of a changing room. If any of my friends or loved ones were to express discontent with the way they look in those f*ing changing room mirrors, I would loudly remind them that it is the mirror and the lighting, not them. But I rarely extend the same grace to myself. I will cringe and cry and shop on-line.

I found this quote a few years ago and fell in love with it then. Last night, I found it again and got on Canva. Thank you Jim Pirri for getting me to find it again.

The sphenoid bone forms the base of the cranium, houses sinuses and provides attachments for the muscles of mastication (chewing). The optic nerves pass through little holes (foramens) in the sphenoid. Tight muscles around the bone and/or inflamed sinuses can result in headaches. A sphenoid release can help. See video in comments.

According to the WHO, episodic tension headaches are the most common type of headaches. Up to 70% of the population have reported tension headaches at one point. Often caused by muscle tension in the neck and or face, treating those muscles can help significantly. MFR, self-treatment, and stress management can all make a difference.

My goal for the month of February is to resume posting information to help folks. This week the topic is headaches.

Different headache types can have different causes. Here's a good illustration of those different causes for my fellow anatomy geeks.
