I am so saddened by the loss of Matt McCabe. He was such a special and exceptional person and one of the first people, and one of my first friends, I met when I moved to Saratoga over 10 years ago. He guided me to my first Voice Coach here and simultaneously, the studio I would end up managing for 1.5 years prior to starting my business. He then became one of my biggest supporters when I first started my own business, after I decided to leave the studio I was managing and take a leap of faith without any of the numerous clients I had worked with prior. With only one client to my name - a client who came to me through Saratoga Guitar – and a bunch of musical equipment I purchased from Saratoga Guitar at an incredible rate from Matt, my Center For Song was launched.

There wasn’t an event I did over the years where he wouldn’t offer his guidance and support if I asked. The people who worked for him also always seemed to pay his kindness and generosity forward – folks he seemed to empower and was loyal to through the good and more challenging times.

He would often brainstorm ideas with me and offer his space or equipment and I loved stopping by the store for one of our chats. He would always greet me with a “Hey, Kiddo!” I was always excited to hear about some new idea he had for his business or the downtown business association, a gig he was playing or some of the activities he was doing with his sons.

Matt was also an incredible guitarist, singer and performer – a blast to watch on stage. I will miss seeing him and hearing his voice.
This is a devastating loss to our whole community. My heart and love goes out to his family, friends and those who loved him.
I know you have to be jamming out with the powers that be, Matt. You touched so many lives here. Thank you for your kindness and friendship over the years.

Join me and my latest Vocal Voyaging group this Sunday, October 13th, as 5 singers and Songwriters make their way onto the local music scene. They will each share a set of beautifully arranged covers, along with some heartfelt and inspiring original music. I will be singing an original song I wrote with one of my students... Super excited. Hope some of you come out to enjoy good music and food!

WE STILL HAVE A FEW SPOTS LEFT for the Summer Vocal Voyaging Group, beginning Wednesday, June 26th at 6:00pm in Downtown Saratoga Springs. We are currently half full and are looking forward to a wonderful group. Due to a few requests to extend the deadline, Early Bird Discount Registration will be extended to this Friday, June 21st.

This group will help you to "Unleash the power of your voice and creative expression!" Performing in front of others along with working with other musicians on a regular basis is incredibly empowering and an excellent way to develop your voice, ignite creativity, build a solid repertoire, and strengthen confidence. The results with this level of consistency and commitment have been phenomenal for our clients. There is something about the number 12 that is magical, so expect a transformation to your body, soul and voice through this group. Singers will select individual material, sing solo and with group, and perform in front of others on a weekly basis! There will be a professional accompanist and we will touch on songwriting, improv and group singing.
