Turns out, the best things in life aren’t actually “things.” 🕯️✨

I went into January expecting a month of “no,” but I ended up with a month of “so much more.”

More time reclaimed from the scroll. More creativity found in my own closet. More peace in my bank account.

The biggest takeaway? Control feels better than consumption. This challenge shifted the focus from what I was “missing out on” to the abundance that was already sitting right in front of me. Choosing how to spend is a superpower, and honestly—this feeling is way more powerful than any order I have ever placed. 📦🚫

In a world that profits off our self-doubt, choosing to stay exactly as you are is a radical act of resilience. I’ve spent too many years waiting for my “real life” to start—waiting for a certain number on a scale to give me permission to be happy, to be stylish, or to be seen.

Here is why weight loss shouldn’t be your 2026 priority either:
🚩 Diet culture is a thief: It steals your time, your mental energy, and your bank account. It’s designed to make you fail, so you keep coming back for more.

🚩 GLP-1s aren’t the “answer”: While they’re the latest trend, a shot can’t fix a relationship with yourself. True peace doesn’t come in a syringe; it comes from unlearning the lie that your body is a problem to be solved.

🚩 Diets are built to fail: Statistics show that the vast majority of intentional weight loss attempts fail long-term. Like 95% of them. Why spend 2026 chasing an unattainable goal?

🚩 Happiness starts now, not “after”: You don’t need to earn the right to take up space. Your life is happening today. Tying your happiness and worth to outside validation is a recipe for disaster.

2026 is about expansion, not restriction. It’s about more joy, more movement that feels good, and more memories that have nothing to do with calories.

What are you putting on your vision board instead of weightloss? Let’s reclaim our time in the comments. 👇

Very interesting article about childhood trauma and abuse. I would have to agree with this. Thoughts? It is really fascinating.

I love teaching about trauma and making education more trauma-sensitive, but trauma overall really impacts the body in ways we are still trying to understand. The body really does keep the score.

For me, I’m experiencing and processing trauma some childhood trauma that is showing up in a very real way in my physical body as a response to grief. I am doing some digging on this and will share what I discover. 🧐

This is the No. 1 sign of childhood trauma in adults, according to a therapist on.today.com/47Yo5jS
