🚨ACTION ALERT: Kindergarten Oral Health Assessments Facing Cuts!

The House Republican’s budget recommendations removed dedicated funding for the Kindergarten Oral Health Assessments and instead used the money to add to per-pupil funding. Since October 2024, KOHA has screened over 18,000 children. 1 in 4 of these children have been referred for urgent dental care following their completed screenings in school.

We are calling on MOHC members to reach out to your elected officials, most notably our House Republicans, and share the positive impact that KOHA provide to Michigan’s school and children. We also ask that you urge them to maintain funding for this program separate from the per-pupil allocation.

Proud to share I’ve been selected as one of the first Ambassadors for the new Hygienist Inspired program – a collaboration between ADHA and the Foundations of Delta Dental.

Our state is among nine participating in this innovative pilot program aimed at:

Strengthening the workforce
Improving diversity in dental hygiene
Expanding access to dental care
