You've heard of it, you know it's bad, and you've been tested for it if you've ever had an eye exam, but what IS glaucoma?
Often called the "silent thief of sight", glaucoma is when the optic nerve is damaged by abnormally high pressure in the eyes, causing a decrease in vision--usually peripheral.
Some causes of high intraocular pressure include: overproduction of eye fluid, genetics, & medical conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease, and diabetes.
