There’s nothing more energizing than spending time with advocates who are deeply committed to growing their skills and expanding the ways they support survivors. 💜

I recently had the opportunity to work with the incredible team at Circle of Hope, where we dug into critical conversations around self-care, expanding our advocacy beyond the crisis moment, and one of the most pressing issues many programs are facing right now: how to support clients navigating both trauma and mental health challenges.

It’s not easy work, but these advocates showed up with honesty, curiosity, and care—and I’m so grateful to be part of that process.

I was so happy to present at the Trauma-Informed Care: Empowering Social Workers in Child Protection training event, held April 15–16 in Waycross, GA. I always love visiting my folks in Waycross, and this time was extra special.

We brought together DFCS workers, domestic violence advocates, and other community partners for a powerful day of learning and collaboration focused on supporting children exposed to domestic violence. These conversations are never easy—but they’re absolutely necessary.

Thank you to everyone who showed up with open hearts and minds—and to Michelle Girtman, Executive Director of Magnolia House, for the glowing feedback.
