Demetria Green anchors WAAY 31’s weekday evening newscasts. The Chicago-born journalist is grateful to call Alabama home after 15 years of reporting, writing and editing for print and television media outlets across the country. Demetria is known for her strong investigative skills– she won the Alabama Broadcasters Association Award for “Best News Anchor in Alabama.” Demetria spends her free time mentoring young ladies at Huntsville City Schools, serving as an adjunct instructor at Calhoun Community College, a Board Member for EarlyWorks Children’s Museum and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc member. Her motto is ‘transparency and curiosity will lead you to the truth.’

Rolanje “RoJay” Armstead is a seasoned media professional, producer, and entrepreneur whose career spans more than two decades in broadcasting, entertainment, and digital marketing. A dynamic presence both on and off the mic, RoJay has built an impressive portfolio that reflects creativity, leadership, and an enduring commitment to excellence.

A graduate of Jacksonville State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism, RoJay began his career at ABC affiliate WAAY TV and 103.1 FM WEUP Radio in Huntsville, Alabama engaging audiences with his signature energy and authenticity.

In 2002, he founded MiddleChild Promotions LLC, a full-service media and marketing company that has executed national campaigns for both major and independent record labels. His expertise in branding, promotions, and artist development has contributed to the success of numerous R&B and Hip-Hop artists.

He is also the creator, executive producer, and co-host of the digital series Out The Box, highlighting Black creatives and entrepreneurs, and the host of The Love Offering, a nightly radio program on Worship 94.5 FM celebrating inspirational and R&B music.

Dedicated to his community, RoJay continues to leverage his platform to promote creativity, wellness, and positive change.

The Alliance is a program within Postpartum Support International that bridges the gap between perinatal support services for families and providers of color

And if you’re not familiar with PSI, let me tell you there are so many support groups and resources available for free

With the focus being on perinatal mental health, we know that B2B will be a success combining our visions

We’re honored to introduce Averi Staten, our dedicated Event Volunteer Coordinator for Birth 2 BounceBack 2026. A native of Athens, Alabama and now residing in Huntsville, Alabama, Averi is a devoted wife to Jeffrey and loving mother to her son, Bryson.

Averi’s heart for families is rooted in both faith and personal experience. As a survivor of preeclampsia, eclampsia, and severe postpartum complications, she carries a powerful testimony of God’s grace and faithfulness. Her journey fuels her passion to uplift, educate, and encourage mothers and families in every season of life.

She loves music, coffee, meaningful conversations, and most of all, sharing the love of Christ. We are grateful for the light, compassion, and dedication she brings to our community.

Educated Dads, Support Moms🤰

The research continues to show that when parents are educated and informed, children thrive better and are healthier

So we have to educate our support partners on what to look for in the birthing or postpartum person

How can we keep you nourished and hydrated in order to take care of baby?

How can we ensure you’re resting and allowing your body to recover?

All of these things will be shared and unpacked in our Dads Cave at Birth 2 BounceBack!

🛝Kids Zone Unlocked 🫧

Now Birth 2 BounceBack would not be complete off we left the kiddos out!

We know that engaging the youth allows for parents to truly soak in all the information and resources

So our Kids Zone is full of hands on activities, fun interactive games, a reading nook, and books for kids to take home

The kids zone has things for littles and bigs of every size!

And don’t worry if things get too overstimulating, we have our relaxation room to reset

❤️We Need Our Dads & Partners❤️

At the core of maternal and infant health is paternal or partner health

We know that when parents are doing well, then baby does well. So it was extra important for us to include dads and support persons in Birth 2 BounceBack

In our Dads Cave we will have our amazing facilitator Juan, , along with staff from , Dr. Hart from , and so many more male figures

The Dads Cave is a private space to ask the questions, to share the stories, and to find community

We need y’all.

So please be sure to register to attend this free event and bring as many of your friends, family, and dads as possible

Advocacy Day with Our Faves

Ever wonder how you can use your voice to make a difference?

Well it starts small. From aligning with organizations out here doing the work and showing up

That’s what we did with , , , and many more

We participated in a press conference and rally in the steps, where Dr. Sha’Rose was one of the speakers and then we went inside the State House to learn how to advocate against SB 209

Did you know anyone can just walk into the State House?
Our Representatives and Senators work FOR us and have to make themselves available to us (within reason of course)

And just like any other job, if they aren’t working well we can fire them!
That is why voting and being aware of your local government is so important

But a small step today you can take is following these amazing organizations and finding an appropriate way for you to get involved
