This morning, Michael Caputo, Mortgage Advisor with First Coast Mortgage, shared his insights with our group. Michael specializes in helping clients land the right mortgage solution, making it possible for them to move into a home with a payment that truly matches their budget and lifestyle. He also brought everyone up to speed on current interest rates and spotlighted a trend he’s noticed: more families are making moves within the city, looking for homes that better fit their needs while staying right here in Savannah.

Michael mentioned another shift he’s seeing: more parents and grandparents are choosing to help their children or grandchildren with down payments, rather than waiting until their kids are fully established later in life. By giving that support while their kids are still in their 30s, and when it’s often needed most, families not only make homeownership more attainable, but they also get to see the difference their gift makes.

Today’s featured speaker was Melinda Calandrello, Agent with Aflac and also the owner of An Everyday Sommelier .

Melinda highlighted two of Aflac’s most popular offerings: cancer policies and short-term disability coverage. These benefits provide critical financial support when the unexpected happens, helping families manage expenses that traditional health insurance may not fully cover.
