What is Diabetes?
Understanding a common yet manageable condition
Diabetes is a chronic health condition in which your body cannot regulate blood sugar (glucose) properly. Your cells either don’t respond effectively to insulin or the pancreas doesn’t produce enough insulin.
This leads to elevated blood glucose levels, which over time can damage organs and tissues.
Common Symptoms and
Warning Signs
You should watch for symptoms that might suggest diabetes:
• Urinate frequently, especially at night
• Excessive thirst
• Feeling very tired or fatigued
• Blurred vision
• Slow-healing sores or frequent infections
• Numbness, tingling, or pain in hands and feet (neuropathy)
Many people with type 2 diabetes may show no symptoms for years.
At Vital Bridge Wellness, we believe no one should navigate a chronic condition alone. Through our Chronic Condition Management service, RN and founder Cathy Lunsford provides compassionate, in-home support—from blood sugar monitoring to medication guidance and care coordination with your doctors.
