Fox & Weeks is privileged to serve the family and loved ones of Dale French Fisher, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who passed peacefully in his home on Monday, January 26th, 2026, in Savannah, GA, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on September 12th, 1955, in Iron Gate, VA, Dale was the cherished son of the late French and Viola Fisher. He spent his formative years in Buchanan, VA, where he graduated from James River High School. Dale proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, enlisting in 1974 and completing his basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He furthered his military career by training as a UH-1 repair specialist at Fort Rucker, Alabama, and went on to serve with distinction as a pilot, first with the UH-60 and later with the UH-1, for over twelve years. It was during his time at the 9th Aviation Troop Brigade in Berlin, Germany, that Dale met the love of his life, Gabriele Karola Hedke. They wed on October 7th, 1977, marking the beginning of a beautiful journey together. After completing his military service, Dale transitioned to a career in the civilian world. He worked with dedication and professionalism as a Warehouse Manager at Empire Distributors and later followed his passion for boating at Bass Pro in Boat Sales. Dale found joy in these roles, particularly in sharing his love for outdoor adventures with others, before he retired to spend more time with his family. Dale enjoyed woodworking, football, golf, and gardening in his spare time. He created many beautiful wood pieces for his home as well as for family and friends. Dale is survived by his devoted wife, Gabriele, and their two loving children, Troy Dale Fisher (Tara) and Bambi Theresa Potter ( Lewis) . He was a proud and adored grandfather to Wyatt Fisher, as well as Hayley and Bryce Potter. Dale leaves behind his beloved sister, Dorothy Taylor, alongside numerous nieces and nephews who respected and looked up to him greatly. Dale French Fisher will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty, his gentle spirit, goofy and jokester personality and his deep commitment to his family and his country. Celeste, the firstborn child of Mary and Tom Coleman, arrived on this earth on May 14, 1951, ready to take charge. An incredible force throughout her lifetime, she left those she met along the way stronger, wiser, and better for having known her. Her bright smile, joyful nature, listening ear, and, most especially, her infectious laugh were among the many special gifts that drew people to her.

Fox & Weeks is privileged to serve the family and loved ones of Jeffrey L. Powell, 66, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27th surrounded by his loving family. Jeff was born in Savannah, GA to Uly Powell of Sylvania, Ga. and Mary F. Powell of Sardis, Ga. He worked as a Maintenance Supervisor until his retirement in 2023. He was a loving father with a heart of compassion and a love for missions. He traveled to Honduras many times, focusing on construction needs, including building a house for a family with medical needs. He also assisted in many ways with a medical clinic, spent time with the boys in an orphanage, providing food and meeting needs of the staff, and delivered sermons and Bible studies in the local churches. Other missions included Russia, Romania, and China. He was often seen on the water, relaxing and enjoying many fishing adventures with his brother John, other family members and friends. Fox & Weeks is privileged to serve the family and loved ones of John Lewis Crow, Jr., age 90, of Rincon, who passed peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2026, after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family. John was born at home on March 24, 1935, to John Lewis Crow, Sr. and Beatrice Parker Crow in Americus, GA. He graduated from Americus High School in 1953. He then went off to college, first attending Georgia Tech, where he was in the Georgia Tech Marching Band (trumpet). One Friday, he decided to drive down to Cordele for the weekend. This is when his and his wife's fate was sealed. They went out on a date that fateful Friday night, and well, the rest is history. John married his beloved wife, Frances, on June 19, 1955. Afterwards they moved to Savannah where John's career began at Hercules. He then attended Armstrong State College, at night, where he received his Bachelors of Science in Chemistry in 1969, all while raising four kids. John never met a stranger, and always wanted to tell his story. Fox & Weeks is privileged to serve the family and loved ones of David Jerome Rountree, 84, who passed through the doorway into inner space as the unmanifest source, out of which all manifestations flow. A dear husband and friend, always courteous, gentle and kind. From an early age he showed an aptitude for the trombone. He joined the 4th Army Band in the 60’s and performed throughout Texas for 3 years. When he returned to Savannah, he was accepted in the Savannah Symphony and played bass trombone until the majestic brass of the Chicago Symphony beckoned him to the windy city where he regularly played in many orchestras and brass groups. While there, under the training of Steinway technicians he acquired the skills to excel as a piano technician and tuner, which he continued to pursue when he returned to Savannah in 2001. In all that he did, David was conscientious, meticulous, and refined. A gentle man, he could not resist adopting lost cats, which he would spay, neuter, and then spoil rotten. John was born on February 4, 1943 in Savannah to the late Mr. John Herbert Oldfield, Sr. and the late Mrs. Evelyn Marie Brown Oldfield. He was a native of Savannah and a graduate of Jenkins High School, after high school he faithful served his country in the United States Air Force. John served during the Vietnam War and flew C130s, after he returned from Vietnam, he joined the Georgia National Guard and achieved the rank of Brigadier General. John was the Commander of the 157th ALS, Commander 165th Air Lift Group and retired as chief of staff of Georgia National Guard War College and Command and Staff. After he retired from the Georgia National Guard, he went on to serve as an Attorney, practicing in Savannah for thirty years. He was a member of the Shriners and in his spare time he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and skiing. John was an animal lover and especially loved his dogs.
