HAPPY FIRST FULL MOON OF THE YEAR, BISHESSS 🔥🌝 This Full Moon is in sensitive af Cancer opposite Underworld Daddy Pluto, so if you feel like scheduling time into CRY tonight, that’s completely normal and not weird 🥲😅

Feeling like a bit of a basketcase? That’s just the Moon in Cancer, sweetie. Crying is a bit of a Cancer past-time and with the Moon being so strong tonight, we may as well *all* be ~honorary~ Cancers. (Don’t worry Ily Cancer, I’m a Pisces Moon- crying is one of our favorite things to do too 🥲. Or maybe just throwing a little tantrum fueled by frustration? A LOT of emotion tonight.

Ok ok ok I might be ~exaggerating~ a LITTLE about cancer energy. All jokes aside, my point is that this Moon can be pretty emotional. The Moon officially became Full at 3:49pm PST/ 6:49pm EST at 27’50’ Cancer with an opposition to Pluto, Sun conjunct Pluto, Juno conjunct Sun/Pluto, Mars (Out of Bounds) quincunx Moon, Saturn still conjunct Mercury, Chiron sextile Mercury, Uranus square Mercury, and Neptune square Mars still and sextile Juno. The Moon in Cancer is also Out of Bounds, adding more volatility and unpredictability to the energy because doesn’t that just sound like fun? *twirls* 🥳

So let’s get into that nasty (and not in the fun way) STAR aspect of this Full Moon- Moon in an opposition to Underworld Daddy Pluto himself. First of all, that automatically means that the Sun is also conjunct Pluto because Full Moons are always Sun-Moon oppositions. The Moon rules our emotional needs while Pluto (in his highest vibration) rules pure POWER. Lower vibe Pluto, however can stimulate paranoia, obsession and hyper fixation, ~manipulative~ and controlling tendencies. And while the Moon needs emotional nurturing (cancer) and gentleness, Daddy Pluto while in the late degrees of Capricorn, answering to strict SkyDaddy Saturn— doesn’t exactly have that in spades. He’s more likely to kick you in the ass than pat your head and tell you everything is going to be ok. And oppositions inherently have an energy of *tension.* And Moon-Pluto can be emotionally dramatic *and* intense. *Cut to me in fetal position on the couch earlier, balls deep in an existential crisis on the verge of tears like the dramatic bish I am* And if you’re feeling this too, it’s not just you! (Yay!) Sun (our ego self) also intensifies our ego needs in the Capricorn area of our charts, or also around the idea of achievement and goals, status/standing in general. (This s**t’s messy yo.)

Other than that, we also have Juno (partnership) joining that intense-ass mess I just described above— so a lot of the aforementioned energy will be particularly directed towards partnerships. Mars (god of war, our drive and masculine energy) is Out of Bounds by declination making his actions and movements even more erratic than the Sagitterrorist sign he’s currently in 😅🔥🤷‍♀️ People’s actions may be truly baffling and also hurtful as he is making a quincunx (hard aspect) to the Full Moon. And Mars is ALSO still a little lost in the Neptunian depths with that square so energy levels may still not be high and dreams might be weird af. *And* Saturn is still in charge of much of the sky with the exception of “bad decisions make good stories” Mars Out of Bounds in Sagittarius and Neptune in “wtf are boundaries” Pisces which as you may have guessed, is a super healthy, not problematic mix 😅 Also though Juno is in a sextile (supportive aspect) with Neptune, I feel like a lot of elements of relationships are really stuck in some sort of Neptunian haze. That can be a messy haze or a rose-colored “feel good” haze— but a haze nonetheless.

Saturn (structure, obstacles, karma) is still loosely conjunct Mercury Rx, putting pressure on us to keep our minds disciplined and get serious about what we want to create. He’s definitely a heavy handed Daddy though and isn’t giving much leeway or understanding for messiness or lack of follow-through. If you’ve been feeling the pressure to really (finally) get your s**t together, that’s his doing. And yet his square (conflict aspect) to Chaos Daddy Uranus (still) and Uranus’ square to Mercury is possibly creating like, a s**t ton of anxiety and uncertainty over how the F**K to proceed? Lol? This energy is chaotic and unstable af, so again, it’s not just you. Your life isn’t as much of a dumpster fire as you may feel while looking through tough love Daddy Saturn’s unforgiving lens🪐

The good news though (yes, there’s good news!) is that on this Full Moon we actually have a lot of power and possibility for healing. (I included a few different options for cord cuttings for subscribers to TheVertex this month, for instance!) There is a lot of energy around releasing that which we have been holding onto for dearf**kinglife (cancer) and maybe being a bit nostalgic about even— which does NOT serve us anymore. And needs to be let the f**k GO. Make that bish Elsa and LET IT GOOOO. Chiron (soul wound) is sextile Mercury, suggesting that if we can get out of our anxious f**king heads and actually do the work to heal the places that are holding us back, the universe will support us through it. And honestly, even despite some of the ~lower~ tendencies of that harsh ass Pluto-Moon opposition— Daddy Pluto ultimately wants us to examine all the places where we have given our power away. And then TAKE IT BACK 🖤🔥

You can do this. This energy is a lot (and trust me, I’m just as f**king tired of saying this as you are of hearing it probably lol) but we are getting stronger. Every one of these planetary shifts and jabs at us that doesn’t break us, strengthens our resilience. Like fortifying steel. So go forth and release. And then rise, stronger.

Remember also, Full Moon energy lasts 3 days after, so you have until the end of Thursday to do your *releasing* rituals (not manifestations lol). *Kris Jenner voice* You’re doing great, sweetie 😘💅

NEW MOON IN CAPRICORN🪐🖤💀 A very Daddy Saturn few days– Have you made your resolutions? SkyDaddy’s keeping us in check ⛓

Ok I honestly usually groan at the thought of New Years resolutions because technically the astrological new year/new CYCLE doesn’t begin until March. BUT because this calendar year begins on a New Moon in Capricorn – ie SkyDaddy Saturn’s domain– it’s actually pretty f**king perfect for that. Saturn keeps us serious and MOTIVATED. And the New Moon is great for ushering in new beginnings. And after that December From Hell™️ 🥲💀 during which so many of us died inside or had experiences that perhaps felt like our insides getting BBQ’d at the inferno holiday cookout (no? Just me? 😅)– anyway, we could use some of that positive, motivational energy. Maybe we’ll actually be able to stick to those resolutions for the first time possibly ever 🔥😅 You have 3 days from when the New Moon happens to take advantage of this energy btw. (So until Wednesday.)

The Moon officially became new at 10:33am PST/ 1:33pm EST on January 2nd, 2022 at 12°20’ Capricorn with a fairly tight trine (harmonious aspect) to Chaos Daddy Uranus, Mars in Sagittarius sextile (supportive aspect) to SkyDaddy Saturn, Juno again conjunct Venus, Venus conjunct Pluto, Jupiter square the Nodes, and Chiron square (conflict aspects) Sun/Moon. All in all, this moon is kinda quiet, though serious and motivated and primed for new beginnings. After that dumpster fire of a year, I say F**K yeah to this as a start for 2022 🔥🖤

Alright let’s dive into the astrology. The most notable aspect on this New Moon is the sun/moon in Cap trine to Uranus. He may be Chaos Daddy (hence why
2021 was so wildddd) but in his highest vibration Uranus is positive change, authenticity, liberation. And when we’re dealing with a harmonious aspect, it’s easier to catch him on a high vibe. So again, really good for setting your intentions, manifesting, and setting the foundation for forward movements. Particularly because the trine is in super fertile and practical earth signs of Capricorn and Ta**us. Mars (our masculine energy, how we take action) is also in gung-ho Sagittarius forming a sextile to SkyDaddy Saturn himself so we have a lotttt more support from the heavens in getting s**t done and being disciplined than we usually do.

But like I was talking about in December, there’s also a super ~pushy~ energy. Energy that wants us to commit, make decisions. You know, ✨Capricorn✨ things. Also because the North Node (soul’s path), currently at the anaretic degree (29°) of Ta**us is squaring Jupiter newly in Pisces. This is NOT the time 😅 With us having entered Mercury rx’s shadow on the 29th, Venus retrograde until Jan the 29th, and Mars in Sag moving into a square with Neptune soon, this is much more of a time to observe and work on getting things in *place* for motion but not a time to commit. Or make huge moves. Not YET. Retrogrades are not bad, they are just designed to get us to go back and retrace our steps instead of taking new ones (unless you have retrogrades in your natal chart and then in which case this would be reversed for you). Anyway you get the idea.

We also still have a lot of focus on partnership which we will see a LOT of in 2022 as it is a “6” year numerologically and therefore corresponds to the Lovers card in Tarot. (More on that and what to expect in 2022 later.) Juno (partnership) is conjunct Mercury (communication, the mind) suggesting this is a big theme on the mind collectively speaking – as well as Venus (values, money, love, what we like) rx in Capricorn conjunct Underworld Daddy Pluto, amplifies the intensity around these things and is making us more ~serious ~ about them. ” Situationships don’t apply” kind of energy.

But there is also kind of a wounding aspect to the energy of this moon that we need to be aware of. Just as
Capricorn energy can be really motivating and pushing us forward– it can also make us ACUTELY aware of our shortcomings and where we *haven’t* achieved all that we want. Yet. That’s because Chiron in forward–moving bull–in–a–China–shop cardinal sign (action taking) Aries, newly direct, is forming a square (conflict aspect) to the New Moon/sun in Capricorn. You have probably accomplished way more than you’re giving yourself credit for, honestly 🥺 You got through 2020 and 2021 just for starters 😅 (more than we can say for Betty White 🥲😭).

So give yourself a little grace. You are allowed to rest. Don’t let this NO DAYS OFF Capricorn energy make you feel less than. The best way for you to use this energy is to set your intentions and be ok with the fact that you might not be there just yet. Jupiter is in Pisces and our manifestation abilities are absolute FIRE 🔥 right now. So ask for some celestial assistance and trust that that s**t is COMING to you 🖤🔥 You’ve already made it so far 🥺🖤
