Before & After | Complex Reconstruction

This patient presented with bulging spinal fusion hardware at risk of exposure due to atrophic skin and prior scarring. Given the compromised soft-tissue envelope, a trapezius muscle flap was performed to provide durable coverage and protect the underlying instrumentation.

The flap restored healthy vascularized tissue over the hardware, reducing the risk of exposure and infection while improving contour and skin integrity.
