Steady Start with Opportunities for Mid-Race Gains Nhecoll Snyder began the 2025 Savannah Southern Half Marathon with steady pacing, maintaining an average speed around the 10:39 min/mile mark for the initial stages. Notably, her strongest mile was the third, clocking in at 9:52 min/mile, which saw her rise in rank within her division to 64th position. Her early miles reflected a controlled and consistent technique that well aligned with her target splits. As the race progressed, Nhecoll’s pace gradually slowed, particularly from mile 8 onward, impacting her overall average pace which settled at 11:31 min/mile. Despite slower splits later, like an 11:51 min/mile at mile 8 and a 13:15 min/mile in mile 12, she successfully completed the half marathon in 2:30:53. Greater focus on maintaining mid-race momentum may benefit future races. Her commitment was demonstrated by competing among 2879 entrants, finishing within the top half of her age division.
