Close out 2025 by giving back. Guthrie Lourdes Hospital is welcoming the American Red Cross onsite tomorrow, Dec. 31, for a New Year's Eve blood drive.

Blood donations often decline during the holidays, making your contribution more important than ever. Donate blood, platelets or AB Elite plasma to help patients in need.

Join us in the hospital's Lecture Hall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to help prevent a shortage and support our community. As a thank you, all donors will receive an exclusive long-sleeved Red Cross T-shirt, while supplies last.

Schedule your appointment at RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS and use sponsor code LOURDESBING.

🌟 Celebrating Compassionate Care at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center! 🌟

For nearly four decades, Toni Murdough walked the halls of Guthrie Cortland Medical Center, greeting everyone with a smile and a curiosity about how they were doing. Toni was a model of compassion who always treated others with respect.

To honor her legacy, Guthrie Cortland recognizes one caregiver each year who not only lives the Guthrie mission, vision, and values but does so each day, in and out of view of supervisors.

We are thrilled to announce that the 2025 recipient of the Toni Murdough Compassionate Care Award is Sheila Ossit, Director of the Cortland Memorial Foundation. Sheila was honored for her positivity, focus on patient and caregiver wellbeing, and community engagement.

Her nomination read, in part: “Her passion for the work she does is showcased with every successful fundraising event we have had under her tenure in this position. Sheila is also very active in the community, volunteering her time and talents with several community organizations. Sheila's passion to help the organization succeed through philanthropic opportunities to support the hospital makes her a very worthy candidate for this award.”

The award was presented on December 19. Congratulations, Sheila! 🎉👏
