Happy !
April is national month, so we'd like to take a moment to say thanks to all our OT colleagues!
Occupational therapy refers simply to the occupation of living our lives. OT's empower people to participate in the everyday activities that bring meaning, purpose, and independence to their lives.
OT's use their knowledge of anatomy & physiology, behavioral science, and creative insight to improve people's abilities while matching them to the lives and activities they wish to live.
In other words, OT's work to align the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional abilities to enrich the lives of others.
Whether it's adapting utensils to improve independence with feeding, cognitive strategies to manage money, working on balance to safely move within the home, or building coordination so someone can dress themselves, (and so much more), OTs help shape independent living!
