Our Story
The Maine Children’s Cancer Program (MCCP) provides integrated, comprehensive, clinical research based medical care and psychosocial and practical support to infants, children, and adolescents with cancer and blood disorders throughout the state of Maine and southern New Hampshire. With five pediatric hematology/oncology physicians, a team of specialized nurses, social workers, and research associates, MCCP strives to not only cure cancer in as many children as possible but also support families through their experience of living with childhood cancer. The Maine Children’s Cancer Program has a goal of helping to keep cancer from getting in the way of letting kids be kids!
On our page, the purpose of our “Worthy Fact Wednesdays” is to provide you with weekly bits of information to educate yourself on childhood cancer and the facts behind the fight.
The purpose of profiling our past patients, staff, and volunteers is to bring forward those involved in MCCP and their stories to introduce you to the faces behind the fight.
