The brought the heart and the heat 💛 for their 2026 Hockey Fights Cancer Night on January 16, proudly welcoming Maine Children’s Cancer Program to center ice! 💚🏒

Thanks to incredible fan generosity, from donations and ticket sales to a high-energy warm-up jersey auction showdown, the Mariners raised an amazing $3,200 to support our 2026 Moonlight Challenge at Pleasant Mountain.

On February 6, Maine Children’s Cancer Program hosted its 12th annual Moonlight Challenge at Pleasant Mountain Maine 🌕⛰️, an all-day winter event with the always-exciting Giant Slalom race 🎿, a lively silent auction, and a cozy après-ski party that carried into the night. 🕺

This year’s event was a huge success, raising over $47,000 in support of MCCP.

A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who braved the cold to join us, volunteer, and celebrate!💛🙌

🚨2026 MOONLIGHT CHALLENGE IS TOMORROW! 🚨

It’s a big weekend for friendly competition. Tomorrow marks the opening ceremony for the 2026 Winter Olympics, and on Sunday, the cold states of New England will hold their breath as the New England Patriots take the field for the Super Bowl LX.

With that much competitive energy in the air, it’s almost insane not to kick things off at the 12th annual Moonlight Challenge!

Meet Kristina Buzzell, one of our dedicated Registered Nurses here at Maine Children’s Cancer Program!

Kristina has been with MCCP for 5 years and finds her time with us to be one of the greatest honors of her life. Here’s what she had to say about working at Maine Children’s Cancer Program;

“My patients are truly the bravest and strongest kids, inspiring me every day with their resilience, courage, and ability to find light even in the hardest moments. It’s a privilege to walk beside these children and their families on a journey no one ever hopes to face. The strength and hope I witness each day continually remind me why I love what I do.”

When Kristina isn’t drawing inspiration from her patients, she’s embracing whatever adventure her three children, husband, and doodle lead her into!
