Autism Society Greater Hudson Region, NY We create connections, empowering the entire Autism community with the resources needed to live fully

The Autism Society Greater Hudson Region is a collective of individuals dedicated to providing resources and opportunities to individuals with autism and their families in the 21 counties we serve. Our board, staff, and volunteers include individuals with Autism, family members, and professionals who work with ASD populations. Our mission: We create connections, empowering everyone in the Autism community with the resources needed to live fully. The Autism Expo & Resource Fair is TWO DAYS AWAY! 🎉

With over 50 exhibitors, a quiet lounge and sensory space, children's activities, and more, there's something for everyone. Join us this Sunday, April 12th, from 12pm to 3pm at the Saratoga Springs City Center; while you're there, take advantage of four free learning sessions from field experts!

At 2:20pm, Dr. Winnie Hasheela and Dr. Priya Winston of The Arc Lexington will present "Spreading Wings: What Helps Autistic Young Adults Succeed After High School." This learning session will provide insights into the Transitions program at The Arc Lexington, which supports neurodivergent young adults as they navigate the transition to adulthood. In this session families will explore the skills that matter most after high school, how confidence and independence develop over time, and the different types of support that make the greatest difference.

Families will leave the session with practical ideas and a clearer roadmap for helping autistic young adults build meaningful and successful adult lives.

Take a moment to review the NYS 2027-2031 State Plan. Your feedback is important.

Final Reminder! The comment period will be open until April 15, 2026. Thank you for your feedback.

The New York State Council on Developmental Disabilities (CDD) supports programs across the State to positively impact the lives of people with developmental disabilities and those who support them.

The CDD’s work is guided by a federally required five-year plan called the “State Plan.” The CDD is required to prepare a new State Plan for 2027–2031. Based on data and input gathered by the CDD from New Yorkers with DD, their family members and caregivers, staff who support people with DD, DD service providers, and others, the CDD developed goals and objectives for the new State Plan.

We are now asking the public to review our recommended plan and provide final comments. This should take about 5 minutes of your time.

Friendship doesn’t mean everyone is the same. It means we care about each other’s differences.

Carl and his friends know that the best friendships make space for everyone, whether someone needs quiet, loves sharing their favorite collections, or just wants a buddy to sit beside.

When Carl or any of his friends are feeling down, they help each other feel better by going on a bike ride together.

When we understand and support each other, friendship grows stronger. đź’›
