****WE HAVE REOPENED OUR OFFICE. PLEASE CALL IF YOU HAVE AN APPOINTMENT THAT NEEDS TO BE RESCHEDULED****
HERE'S WHAT WE'RE DOING TO KEEP PATIENTS AND STAFF SAFE DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
Your health and safety is our number one priority. You may be assured that Dr. Zimmers and her staff are doing everything possible to provide a safe environment for our patients. Towards that effort, we ask that you ONLY SEEK CARE IF YOU ARE HEALTHY and do not suspect that you have been exposed to COVID-19. If you have symptoms of COVID-19 or are concerned that you may have been exposed, let us know so that we may determine an appropriate plan. Symptoms may include:
Dry Cough
Fever
Shortness of Breath
Headache
Diarrhea
Fatigue
Change or decrease in taste or smell
Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
Bluish lips or face
The COVID-19 pandemic has made it imperative to practice social distancing. We therefore ask that when you have an appointment that you DO NOT BRING COMPANIONS OR FAMILY MEMBERS WITH YOU. Upon arrival please wait in your car until you are called to come in. No patients may wait in the waiting room.
When you enter, a hand sanitizing station will be provided for you to wash your hands. We will then ask a series of questions and take your temperature before your appointment. Anyone that is symptomatic will be rescheduled.
In addition, our practice will continue to follow all federal, state and local regulations including, but not limited to, the ADA, IDA, CDC and OSHA to protect employees and patients.
Dentists have always been at the forefront of infection control. As you may know, all of our instruments are sterilized after use or thrown away. After each procedure, each surface is sprayed with a hospital grade disinfectant that is very effective in killing the COVID-19 coronavirus. But we’ve taken our infection control protocol to a new level.
You will therefore notice a few changes in our office. We have added a “sneeze barrier” at the check out window, and our staff will be wearing special masks and face shields.
In each operatory, we’ve added an air purifier with a “true HEPA” filter and UVC light to kill any airborne coronavirus. Similar technology has been added to the HVAC system.
Before your procedure, you will rinse with an antimicrobial rinse. For any aerosol producing procedures, Dr. Zimmers will apply a rubber dam.
Lastly, each employee’s temperature will be monitored daily.
We hope this information has allayed any concerns you may have had.
We miss you all, and look forward to seeing you soon. Be well and stay safe!
Dr. Zimmers
