âď¸ Winter Dry Mouth & Cavities
Cold winter air, indoor heating, and less water intake can all lead to dry mouth this time of year â and that can quietly increase the risk for cavities.
Saliva plays an important role in protecting teeth by washing away bacteria and neutralizing acids. When saliva is reduced, teeth are more vulnerable.
Simple winter tips to protect your smile:
⢠Sip water throughout the day
⢠Limit frequent snacking on sugary or sticky foods
⢠Brush twice daily and floss once a day
⢠Use a humidifier at night if your home air feels dry
If youâve noticed increased sensitivity, dryness, or changes in your mouth this winter, let us know. Weâre always happy to help keep small concerns from becoming bigger ones.
