Last week, the team celebrated several fun events including the first day of spring, International Day of Happiness and a new favorite holiday: Red Nose Day! Red Nose Day is meant to be a celebration of comedy, community and compassion, all things that help the healing process.

Let's hear it for Tammy Fecher, Brookdale's March BRAVO award winner! Tammy is our weekend receptionist and has been with Brookdale since December 2024.

When her peers and Brookdale patients described Tammy during the nomination process, the following words kept coming up: helpful, compassionate and empathetic. One great example of her kindness is when she made a hat for one of the patients — a perfect gesture for these cold winter days in the Poconos!

Tammy's supervisor, Dana Hoffman, had this to say: "I can attest to the fact that she exemplifies teamwork. She readily picks up shifts or covers when needed and does not hesitate when asked to flex her work schedule. She will volunteer to switch shifts and stay over during inclement weather to make sure the front desk is covered. She is a joy to be around and we all love her!"
