All week long, we’ve been highlighting the importance of handwashing for National Handwashing Awareness Week. As we head into the holidays—when we’re gathering with loved ones, traveling, and sharing meals—clean hands are one of the simplest ways to keep everyone healthy.

Take 20 seconds with soap and water before/after gatherings, shopping trips, and caring for loved ones. This small habit can make a big impact!

For Account Executive Angela, helping veterans access the care they need at Aveanna isn’t just a job, it’s a personal mission.

Her son Grant joined the Wisconsin Army National Guard while still in high school. From cheering him on at his graduation from Basic Training to supporting him through deployments in the Middle East, Angela and her husband Steven have lived the strength and sacrifice of a military family.

"Grant’s military journey has filled me with so much pride," said Angela. "My experience as a military mom has inspired me to give back to other families of those who have served our country. Our veterans' remarkable resilience, adaptability, and selflessness provides us with an opportunity to show our thanks by providing exceptional care. It's an honor to help these individuals and their families navigate home health care so they can live life to the fullest."

Every veteran Angela encounters reminds her of Grant’s courage and the resilience of those who wear the uniform. Because for Angela, honoring veterans means honoring her son—and every hero like him.
