DAY FOUR - Did 13.1 miles followed by another mile. Everything from the waist down hurts and my feet are throbbing. I am legitimately afraid to sit down as I may not get back up. Went through 6 shirts, 3 headbands, and 5 bottles of water. The walk started at 101 degrees and ended at 88 degrees. On one hand, I’m proud of getting back out there and completing 33 miles in 4 days. On the other hand, I’m wondering what I got myself into by registering for a half-ironman next April. Then I find myself resonating on all that I have learned throughout this journey and what I’ve shown that I’m capable of and I’m just scratching the surface. Then I hear Jeremy chirping in my ear saying something like “Just breaststroke the swim. It’s not fast but it’ll get you there” and “Master the Mullins trot. Simple is sexy.” Today is DAY ONE. I shall get 1% better every day until I race.

DAY THREE - Today was a humbling experience. Due to a work meeting, I could only make time for a 6.1-mile walk, but I decided to follow the example set by many of you in Team Alpha by adding a 48-pound ruck. To those of you in the military who regularly ruck with this weight (or more), carry 100-pound ruck bags, run 10Ks with heavy loads, serve our country, or protect our citizens, I commend and appreciate you. Your dedication and strength are truly inspiring. Thank you for leading by example and showing us what can be achieved. Special thanks to Jeremy for pushing me beyond my limits and challenging me.

DAY TWO - 3.1 miles down today. Big day is tomorrow. I’ve decided I’m going to ruck the half. I’m going to accept the challenge that Jeremy dropped in the podcast. He says we’re capable of more than we think we can. I will prove that tomorrow. Stay tuned.

DAY ONE - I decided to jump right on in the deep end and do 9.3 miles. I’m not going to sugarcoat it one bit…It was hard. I’m out of shape, let myself go, and paid for it tonight. But man did it feel good to push myself again. Thanks, Jeremy for always leading by example!!!
