My Experience with L-Carnitine has been a subtle surprise. I heard injecting it would give an extra boost in workouts so it piqued my interest. I had never been impressed with the over the counter pill form and even with the injections it’s not really a weight loss supplement unless you put the work in!
About 3 hours prior to an intense workout, in my case I like to spar and do boxing workouts, is the optimal time to inject under the skin. It can be a large volume so sometimes not the most pleasant thing so I have to go slow in that regard.
Taking it is not like taking an energy drink where you feel pumped up and then you crash. It’s not going to make your heart feel like it’s about to come out of your chest or even make it beat any faster. What I DID notice is at the point I would normally start to become fatigued, I was still going strong for significant time more. It feels like I am having a top 5% workout everytime. No side effects. No come down period. If I take it and don’t exercise I don’t feel a bit different.
How does it work? It helps to transport long chain fatty acids (fat tissue) into the mitochondria of cells (the powerhouse) to help make metabolism more efficient.
I am glad I started taking it to give me an edge in intense workouts. I would recommend it to most people looking to do the same. Safe, effective, easily available over the counter in pill form, and from a physician in injectable form.
