Happy Krampus Day!
Krampus is a horned, half-goat, half-demon figure from Alpine folklore who punishes naughty children on December 5th, known as Krampusnacht, while Saint Nicholas rewards the good ones. The legend originated in pre-Christian pagan traditions celebrating the winter solstice, and the name comes from the Old High German word "krampen," meaning "claw". The tradition was later assimilated into Christian festivities, with Krampus acting as the dark counterpoint to St. Nicholas.
