At Anew, we believe that everyday moments can be powerful opportunities for healing.

Today, our team participated in a hands-on experiential training focused on therapeutic mealtimes. In reality, shared meals are significantly meaningful and clinically informative spaces in treatment — where connection, structure, social confidence, and a sense of belonging are practiced in real time.

Our client support staff and clinicians came together to practice how to create thoughtful, supportive, and engaging mealtime environments for the individuals we serve.

We’re proud to be building a team that is not only skilled, but deeply intentional in how we show up for our clients in each interaction.

Because healing often happens in the most human moments.

When I think about where this work began for me, I go back to 2008.

At that time, I was a practicum student, and I began working with individuals and families impacted by serious mental health conditions, including psychotic spectrum disorders. What I came to understand very quickly is something that has stayed with me ever since: no one experiences these conditions in isolation.

A severe mental health condition affects an individual, of course. But it also touches parents, siblings, partners, extended family, friends, and often the professionals who step in to help hold care together. The effects ripple through entire systems. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, that truth has always been where my heart is.

My passion has never been limited to understanding symptoms alone. It has always been about deeply understanding people in context — their relationships, their histories, their environments, the patterns that form around suffering, and the ways healing becomes possible when people no longer have to carry those burdens alone....

✨ What Does a Clinical Mental Health Counselor Actually Do?

A lot of people ask this — and the answer is more impactful than you might think.
Clinical mental health counselors are trained professionals who:

🧠 Conduct individual + group therapy sessions
🧠 Diagnose mental health conditions
🧠 Help clients navigate challenges like anxiety, depression, and more

Their approach? Human-centered and holistic.
They focus on your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to support real, lasting change.

💡 While often confused with clinical psychologists, counselors typically take a more humanistic, therapy-focused approach rather than prescribing medication.

I am very excited to announce that our Spring Staff Spotlight Award winner goes to Valencia Yazzie! Congrats, Val! This is so well deserved. 🙂🎉

Val, here is what your peers had to say about you:

"I would like to nominate Val. She recently stepped into the new role of healthcare coordinator and has demonstrated dedication, adaptability, and a strong commitment to supporting both staff and clients. Transitioning into a new position can be challenging, but Val has approached it with optimism, initiative, and a willingness to learn."

" Val brings such a supportive, warm calm presence that helps create a positive environment for everyone around her."

"I appreciate Val's willingness to learn, ask questions and all the support she provides to our clients."

The 2026 Partners In Treatment Conference is shaping up to be our biggest year yet, and the momentum is building quickly.

Registrations from clinicians across the country are picking up pace, and our exhibit hall (with about 130 vendor spaces) is now over 80% full. Many of the most sought-after booths have already been claimed, and we’re seeing a real surge in interest from treatment centers, innovative programs, and referral partners who want to connect with clinicians and industry professionals.

This means two things:

✨ The energy and opportunity at this year’s event will be unmatched: More meaningful conversations, more potential collaborations, and more ways for you to expand your network and referral base in one place.

✨ Spots for both exhibitors and attendees are going faster than in previous years: If you’ve been on the fence about joining us, now is the time to secure your place before we hit capacity.

Here’s a quick reminder of why so many clinicians are making PIT their go-to conference:

💛 9 - 13.5 live CEUs from top-tier, evidence-based presenters focused on practical clinical advances

💛 Warm, intentional community spaces (Countdown Party, Opening Reception, Poolside Moonlight Mingle) where real relationships form

💛 Hands-on experiential workshops that many describe as eye-opening

💛 The “Branding the Best You” session with clinician-focused strategies to grow your practice authentically

💛 A welcoming exhibit hall built for collaboration, not sales pressure. Bring business cards and practice materials; exhibitors are actively seeking referral partners

💛 The peaceful Partner Lounge for needed breaks and casual colleague connections

We can’t wait to welcome you to We-Ko-Pa Resort in Fountain Hills/Scottsdale this April 22–24. Come earn CEUs, make genuine connections, and be part of what’s becoming the premier relational gathering for mental health treatment professionals.

When families find hope again, everything changes. 💕

One parent shared that their experience with Anew Treatment Center was life-changing and that their daughter now has a future they once thought was impossible.

We’re deeply grateful for Megan, Alyssa, and our entire clinical team who make stories like this possible every day.
