🦷 Why do I need a sinus lift procedure?

A sinus lift is often required as the first step when placing a dental implant in the back of the upper jaw. When upper teeth are lost, bone in that area naturally shrinks over time. Consequently, your sinuses expand to fill in the space where the bone previously occupied. In order to place a dental implant in this space, the sinus must be lifted and bone graft added.
