We love preconception care. There is so much we can do to make sure you are in the best health you can be in before getting pregnant, but what does that timeline look like? Let's talk about it.

Preconception care should be started at least 3 months prior to actively trying to conceive (TTC). This includes:

- Initiating any nutrition/lifestyle changes and incorporating a high quality prenatal vitamin.

- Getting labs drawn to assess for any risk factors for pregnancy (i.e. thyroid, blood sugar, MTHFR, hormone status, iron status, etc.)

- Start ovulation tracking methods to help you understand your individual cycle and when the ideal time of the month is to try and get pregnant.

We are excited to welcome women's health doctor, Dr. Santosuosso. She will start seeing patients in February and we are making those appointments now! Here is a little bit about Dr. Santosuosso: Dr. Molly Santosuosso is a naturopathic medical doctor who has a focus in treating women’s health. Her main focus is in hormone health, treating conditions including PCOS, endometriosis, preconception and fertility care, and thyroid disease. Dr. Santosuosso aims to take an integrative, root-cause approach to care, focusing on whole-body health instead of symptom management alone. She is passionate about empowering her patient's to take control over their health and work alongside them to meet their goals.
Originally from Massachusetts, Dr. Santosuosso relocated to Arizona to pursue her dream of becoming a naturopathic physician. She earned her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (NMD) at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM) in Tempe, Arizona. She then completed a one-year residency program at the SCNM Medical Center. Dr. Santosuosso is a professional member of the Endocrinology Association of Naturopathic Physicians (EndoANP).
When she is out of the office, Dr. Santosuosso can be found scouting out local coffee shops or rock climbing at an indoor bouldering gym with her fiance. Being from Massachusetts, her favorite time to return home is during fall for halloween season and apple picking.
