I was honored to serve again as Doctor of the Day this week at the Arizona Legislature. I very much appreciate the Senators and Representatives willing to hear about healthcare matters, and I even had the opportunity to testify in Committee about a bill regarding treatment options at pharmacies.

We went down to the Capitol today to participate with the American College of Surgeons in lofe-saving training to "Stop the Bleed." The idea is to buy a little more time adter injury for EMT to get there. We also met with Senator Kavanagh, who was an EMT himself!

We had an amazing time in the Bahamas sailing with my brother who brought his sail boat from the States. The weather was amazing, and we especially enjoyed an area near Staniel Cay that they call the "Sea Aquarium". Not a separate building, but part of the ocean that really looks like what they are trying to replicate when they put an aquarium in a building.

Everything we do in my practice is focused on improving your quality of life, and I want to let you know of something very important.

The FDA is finally recognizing the importance and safety of Hormones Replacement Therapy for women in menopause, both to improve quality of life and to reduce the chance of heart attack, stroke, brittle bones, and dementia and Alzheimers.

This week Dr. Marty Makary, head of the FDA, just published an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal annoucing this important change, so I wanted to give you the details.

If you or someone you know is or will be a menopausal woman, this is something you should know about.

We're oficially back from our Hawaii trip 💜🌺.

From attending a Luao where Dr. Nachbar got his 1st "tattoo" 😂, to beautiful hikes 🏞, amazing beach time 🏖 and delicious dinners 🥗, we created unforgettable memories together.

"Grateful" is the perfect word to describe this trip. 🌺

Now that we're rested, we're happy to return to our patients and continue providing them with the love and care they deserve.

Last week I went to the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons in New Orleans.

The Emerging Trends Committee gives the Hot Topics seminar each year, and I spoke about Phenomics and Stem Cell use.

I'm also on the Technology, Innovation, Disruption, and Entrepreneurship Committee, which hosted the Chief Medical Officer of Microsoft for an hour-long talk.

There is so much new material, I always learn alot at this meeting.

Just got back from an amazing trip to the Big Island of Hawaii 🌺. I had not been there for a couple of decades.
It has an active volcano 🌋 (we only saw smoke, no glowing lava, but there is a LOT of lava everywhere). We also got to swim with the Manta Rays 💜.

Highly recommended!

Plastic Surgery is all about making our lives better, and a very important aspect of that is fitness and nutrition. Although there is a lot of misinformation floating around, there is also a lot of science, which forms the underpinnings of everything we do.

That is why I wanted to learn more about fitness and nutrition from a scientific perspective, so I completed the ACE Personal Trainer program two years ago, and I just completed an additional course on Fitness Nutrition.

Patients often ask about fitness and nutrition issues, which are not really addressed in Medical School, and I want to be sure the information I provide is accurate.
