We are excited to announce Dr. Jayme S. Blais, Psy.D. has joined our practice. Dr. Blais is a licensed Arizona clinical psychologist specializing in neuropsychology. Dr. Blais is currently seeing new patients for neurocognitive and neuropsychological testing - testing that is essential for patients seeking treatment for pain management and bariatric procedures. Dr. Blais also offers counseling and therapy services.

Dr. Blais has worked with a wide variety of neuropsychological conditions and neurodegenerative disorders, including dementia, strokes, seizures, traumatic brain injury, concussions, and various other cognitive impairments.

Dr. Blais obtained a master’s degree and doctorate in clinical psychology from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona, along with post-doctoral training in neuropsychology from Arcadia Neuropsychology. Dr. Blais has also obtained a master’s degree in forensic psychology from Nebraska Wesleyan University.

Four Peaks Neurology is proud to announce Dr. Mariano Porto has joined our team of neurologists. Dr. Porto is a general neurologist specializing in migraines and epilepsy. He has also worked extensively evaluating and treating dementia, strokes, seizures, tremors, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, neuropathy, traumatic brain disease, and vertigo.

Dr. Porto received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He completed an internship in internal medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center then a residency in neurology at the University of California Irvine Medical Center. He returned to San Antonio for his fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology. He has worked at university hospitals, Veterans Administration, and the Epilepsy Foundation.

Dr. Porto is currently accepting new patients.

At Four Peak Peaks Neurology we have been quickly reacting and implementing changes to our practice to stay ahead of the rapidly changing landscape with the Covid 19 pandemic. During our strategic practice meeting this last Friday, the providers adopted, implemented and executed a new Telemedicine program to be able to provide Telemedicine patient follow up visits. Also, in order to try and ensure ongoing provider and staff availability we will be rotating providers and staff in the office to mitigate risk of Covid 19 exposure. By such a response we hope to be available to our patients moving forward during this crisis to handle all we can via our practice and reduce the need for our patients to seek ER care for any Neurologic concerns, emergencies. With such a response we hope to do our best to reduce the stress on ERs and hospitals as they gear up to handle Covid 19 surges.
We have also implemented changes to our office in order to try and meet the social distancing mandate of the CDC, WHO, and the Federal and State governments.
We ask all our patients to be understanding, to exercise patience, and thus help us help them.
A wonderful story of kindness from last week. Like everyone else in the world we having been trying to get appropriate masks in case we were to need them as a physician office. Our prayers were answered when a patient of the practice came in to see Dr. Moschonas. After Dr. Moschonas explained our mask dilemma to him, this kind soul brought us back masks for our whole office. Let us all take heed of such generous human kindness and do the same. Our prayers are with our physicians, our nurse practitioner, our staff and their families, our patients and their families and the world as a whole battling this global pandemic and suffering. Extra ordinary times call for extra ordinary measures and together we will meet the challenges and prevail.
