This is a good question to ask. We like to be upfront about embalming. Embalming is not required by law, except in a few special circumstances. In nearly all cases, you do not have to embalm. We are so grateful for the caregivers in our community, both family members who step in and professional caregivers. They deserve special recognition and endless support.

Some ways to honor your loved one on their birthday, an anniversary date, holiday and more...
- Bring flowers to their final resting place, or simply go for a visit
- Listen to a voicemail they've left you or a video recording
- Do one of their "favorites" - watch a movie, attend their church, grab a scoop or two of their favorite ice cream
- Get creative - make art, sing, play an instrument
- Send part of their cremated remains to be made into a tree, jewelry, etc.
- Write them a letter
- Make a donation in their honor

Wondering what to wear to a digital funeral? Wear whatever feels right to you! If you feel like dressing up to honor you loved one, do so. If you prefer to be comfortable, that's great too. Maybe wear their favorite color, or for the sports fan, their favorite team's jersey.

Whatever you choose, don't forget to engage in the service and show the family support to help you view the funeral as a funeral - helping you prepare to grieve.
