✨Birth Story: Welcoming Baby Penelope ✨
When I arrived at the hospital on the evening of July 22nd, labor had already begun to unfold beautifully. By 6:45 p.m., baby girl was letting us know she’d be here soon, contractions were steady, and mom was already 5 cm dilated.
Just minutes later, as mom sat back to sip some water, her water broke, not once, but twice! The room shifted instantly, that unmistakable mix of excitement and focus filled the air.
We found our rhythm together through each wave: birth comb in hand, cool air from the fan on her face, her partner grounding her with hip squeezes, and soft words of encouragement between contractions.
She stayed so calm and connected, listening to her body’s cues. By 9:57 p.m., she was 6 cm and moving beautifully through active labor. We dimmed the lights, turned on her birth playlist, and let her body guide the way.
Things moved quickly from there, by 11:03 p.m., she was 8 cm, and just five minutes later, her body began to push all on its own.
At 11:11 p.m., baby Penelope made her entrance Earthside, strong, perfect, and surrounded by so much love.
Her mama birthed her naturally, trusting her instincts every step of the way. The room was quiet except for the soft cries of new life and the joyful tears that followed.
After birth, Penelope latched for the first time at 11:38 p.m., beginning her breastfeeding journey while snuggled on her mother’s chest.
✨This birth was a beautiful reminder: our bodies know exactly what to do when we trust the process and feel supported. 💕
