✨ Be the person you want to work with. ✨
As a doula, this is the standard I hold myself to every single day.

When families invite me into their birth space, they’re choosing someone who is calm, grounded, supportive, and truly invested in their experience. I show up as the kind of person I would want beside me in labor. Someone who listens deeply, advocates respectfully, honors your choices, and believes in your strength.

When you hire me as your doula, you’re not just getting a service…
You’re getting a steady presence, a nurturing guide, and a teammate who is committed to making your birth feel empowering, informed, and uniquely yours. 💛

Are you expecting a baby in 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣6️⃣? Don’t hesitate to add us to your birth team. Our calendar fills quickly! 💜

🍁🧡 Happy Thanksgiving, Families 🧡🍁

Today, I’m holding deep gratitude for every family who has welcomed me into their journey.
For the quiet moments, the powerful moments, the tears, the triumphs, and the love that fills each birth story, thank you.

As a doula, I get a front-row seat to the strength of pregnant women birthing their babies, the devotion of partners, and the first breaths of new life. There’s no greater honor.

Whether you’re preparing to meet your baby soon, savoring your first Thanksgiving as parents, or soaking in those sweet traditions with growing little ones. I’m wishing you warmth, rest, and connection today.

May your home feel cozy, your heart feel full, and your plate be deliciously overflowing.

✨ Birth Story: Audrey’s Beautiful Arrival ✨

At exactly 40 weeks, Audrey decided she was ready to meet her family. When I arrived as her doula, mama was already 4cm at 6:37am, calm and grounded, breathing beautifully through her contractions. We spent some time on the birth ball, swaying, breathing, and staying connected through each wave.

Things moved fast-only 20 minutes later, she was 7cm, and by 7:04am, that powerful urge to push took over. I reminded her to trust her body, breathe deeply, and follow her instincts.

At 7:06am, she began to push and in just five minutes, at 7:11am, sweet Audrey was born! 🌸 She came out with her little arm by her head (a true superhero pose!) and a bit of meconium, but she was strong and perfect from the start.

Mama had a small tear but handled every moment with grace. Audrey was in the left occiput anterior position, and in one of the most empowering moments of the morning, mama cut her own cord- fully owning her birth experience.

We moved into that peaceful golden hour. Audrey’s Apgars were 7 and 8, and by 7:42am, she had her first latch and was nursing like a champ.

I helped mama get comfortable, offered her and grandma some snacks and water, and we took a quiet moment to soak it all in before I slipped out around 10am- heart full and in awe of the strength, love, and beauty that filled that room.

Welcome, Audrey- you were born surrounded by calm, strength, and so much love. 💕

✨ What is a “Tight Nuchal”? ✨

You may have heard your provider or birth team mention a “tight nuchal” during birth but what does that actually mean?

A nuchal cord simply means that baby’s umbilical cord is wrapped around their neck. This is very common and it happens in about 1 in 3 births! Most of the time, it’s completely harmless and babies are born perfectly healthy. 💕

A tight nuchal just means the cord had less slack than usual, making it snug around baby’s neck as they’re being born. In these cases, your provider or birth team might gently slip it over baby’s head or loosen it before the shoulders are born.

👉 The good news: the cord is designed to be strong and flexible, so even when it’s wrapped around, it usually continues to provide oxygen until baby takes their first breaths.

As your doula, I’m there to help keep everyone calm, explain what’s happening in real time, and remind you that your body and baby are working together beautifully, even when birth takes little twists and turns. 🌿💫

Let’s talk postpartum freebies 💁‍♀️

You know those fancy “postpartum kits” online that promise to make recovery magical? Yeah… the hospital’s got the OG version and it’s free.

✨ Mesh un**es – fashion statement of motherhood
✨ Giant pads – aka adult diapers, and yes, you’ll love them
✨ Peri bottle – your bestie for every bathroom trip
✨ Dermoplast – heaven in a can

Sure, there are tons of “must-have” products out there, but honestly? Unless you have a strong preference, you don’t need to spend a dime. The hospital stash works just fine.

Save your money for snacks, comfy pajamas, and DoorDash, mama. 💅

✨ The Magic of Magnesium in Pregnancy ✨

Did you know magnesium plays a huge role in supporting your body during pregnancy? 💫 This essential mineral helps with so many important things, including:

🌿 Reducing muscle cramps & leg aches especially those pesky nighttime charley horses.
🧘‍♀️ Supporting relaxation and better sleep, magnesium helps calm your nervous system naturally.
❤️ Promoting healthy blood pressure and blood sugar levels, important for overall pregnancy wellness.
🤰 Easing constipation, by helping your digestive system work more smoothly.
🦴 Building baby’s bones and teeth, magnesium partners with calcium to support healthy development.

Many mamas find magnesium-rich foods or gentle supplements make a noticeable difference in how they feel calmer, less achy, and more balanced. 💚

Always check with your care provider before starting any supplement, but adding more magnesium-rich foods (like spinach, almonds, avocado, and dark chocolate 🍫) can be a delicious way to nourish yourself and baby.

✨ Your body is doing so much and magnesium helps keep everything running smoothly. ✨

🪶 A quiet moment before new life begins

As I sat by the window, looking out at the hospital views, people below going about their daily routines-I couldn’t help but think how, inside these walls, one family’s world was about to change forever.

Their baby was being born by cesarean, and I waited close by, ready to support however I was needed.
Sometimes, I’m in the OR offering calm reassurance when a partner can’t be present. Other times, I wait and prepare the recovery space, making sure everything is ready for that first snuggle, the first feeding, and those emotional first moments together.

Even when birth looks different than planned, it’s still powerful, and full of love. 💛

🌎💛 World Kindness Day 💛🌎

As a birth doula, I’m reminded every day that kindness is one of the most powerful forms of support we can give. It shows up in the gentle reassurance to a laboring mother, a partner’s comforting touch, or the quiet presence that says, “You’re not alone.”

Kindness doesn’t have to be grand, it’s in every deep breath shared, every encouraging word, every moment of patience when things take time.

Today and every day, let’s choose kindness for ourselves, for one another, and especially for those bringing new life into the world. 🌸

✨ Be gentle. Be present. Be kind. ✨

✨Birth Story: Welcoming Baby Penelope ✨

When I arrived at the hospital on the evening of July 22nd, labor had already begun to unfold beautifully. By 6:45 p.m., baby girl was letting us know she’d be here soon, contractions were steady, and mom was already 5 cm dilated.

Just minutes later, as mom sat back to sip some water, her water broke, not once, but twice! The room shifted instantly, that unmistakable mix of excitement and focus filled the air.

We found our rhythm together through each wave: birth comb in hand, cool air from the fan on her face, her partner grounding her with hip squeezes, and soft words of encouragement between contractions.

She stayed so calm and connected, listening to her body’s cues. By 9:57 p.m., she was 6 cm and moving beautifully through active labor. We dimmed the lights, turned on her birth playlist, and let her body guide the way.

Things moved quickly from there, by 11:03 p.m., she was 8 cm, and just five minutes later, her body began to push all on its own.

At 11:11 p.m., baby Penelope made her entrance Earthside, strong, perfect, and surrounded by so much love.

Her mama birthed her naturally, trusting her instincts every step of the way. The room was quiet except for the soft cries of new life and the joyful tears that followed.

After birth, Penelope latched for the first time at 11:38 p.m., beginning her breastfeeding journey while snuggled on her mother’s chest.

✨This birth was a beautiful reminder: our bodies know exactly what to do when we trust the process and feel supported. 💕

If you’re dreaming of a calm, empowered birth experience like this one, we’d love to support you through every step of your journey. 🌿

🇺🇸 Honoring Our Veteran Parents 🇺🇸

Today, on Veterans Day, I want to recognize the incredible strength of parents who have served our country. Being a veteran is already an act of courage and becoming a parent adds an entirely new layer of love, dedication, and resilience.
