April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month 🌷

Our Allied Services Wilkes-Barre Rehab Center is proud to support our patients, families, and caregivers every step of the way. 🙌

In addition to providing comprehensive Parkinson’s therapy, Allied Services also offers a Parkinson’s Support Group to foster connection, education, and encouragement. 👏

Our support group meetings are free of charge and held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 4:00 p.m.

💚💙 Celebrating Our Incredible Volunteers! 💚💙

Allied Services recently hosted a wonderful Volunteer Appreciation Celebration filled with food, fun, and fellowship to honor the individuals who give so generously of their time and hearts.

Guests enjoyed a pizza dinner while receiving important volunteer updates and education. We were proud to recognize our dedicated volunteers with Years of Service pins, and to present this year’s ⭐ Star Volunteer Award to Lisa Mundt—thank you, Lisa, for your outstanding commitment and compassion!

A special highlight of the evening was a presentation by Monika Dunn, LMT, one of our talented massage therapists, who shared the meaningful benefits of massage therapy for hospice and palliative patients.

A huge thank you to the Geisinger Medical College Student Volunteers representing the 21 volunteers from the No One Dies Alone Program. These students vigil sit with our hospice patients who may not have family or loved ones to be with them so that no one is alone at the end of their life journey. 🙌💐

From shared laughter to heartfelt recognition, the evening was a true reflection of the spirit of our volunteer community. We are so grateful for each and every volunteer who helps us make a difference every day.

This National Volunteer Week, we proudly celebrate the incredible individuals who give their time, compassion, and heart to support those we serve across Allied Services. 💚💙

From our Hospice volunteers—serving in our Veteran Honors Program, Pet Peace of Mind, and providing comfort and operational support—to our dedicated Rehab Hospital Gift Shop volunteers, Pet Therapy teams, and Ronald McDonald House Family Room volunteers—your impact is felt every single day.

We are also deeply grateful for the many volunteers who visit and uplift residents in our nursing homes, rehab hospitals, intellectual disabilities residential programs, and personal care homes. Your presence brings connection, joy, and dignity to so many lives. 🙌
