MyCIL Center For Independent Living

MyCIL Center For Independent Living MyCIL โ€” Your Center for Independent Living. This empowerment gives more control over their lives.

Empowering people with disabilities to live independently and thrive in their communities. ๐Ÿ’™
Home of the Transitional Skills Center & ACES$ Financial Management Services serving Self-Directed programs. Persons with disabilities want to decide how to live their lives, determine what supports they need, and how to consume their resources within their own means, just the same as anyone in the general population does. Independent Living gives adults with disabilities and families of children with disabilities more control over their budgets and how their resources are consumed. These individuals will experience more freedom and choice, resulting in a better quality of life. The ability to select their own Caregivers with the expectation of satisfactory performance on their part.

๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŒฒโ˜ƒ๏ธโ„๏ธThe 2025 TSC Winter Festival was held on Wednesday but students were busy busy busy in the weeks leading up to the event! ๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŒฒโ˜ƒ๏ธโ„๏ธ

In vocational workshop they created handmade decorations for designing super-sized gingerbread houses. They beamed with pride to include others through creativity, teamwork, and collaboration.

Homemade sugar cookies were baked and decorated from scratch. Students twisted, tied, and crafted colorful wreaths, centerpieces, and candle holders. They were excited to design their own sentimental decor and goods for seasonal gift giving.

Students mingled with friends and made new ones to problem solve larger than life word searches when they weren't dancing the day away to personalized playlists of their favorite music for celebrating.

What makes the annual Thanksgiving Feast at TSC a sentimental tradition is that it's prepared by students, served by students, enjoyed by students, and wrapped up by students as well. A landmark display of growing independence, teamwork, artistry, and above all gratitudeโ€” through a warm meal and togetherness.

Students prep goods, serve food, set tables, design and decorate. But that's far from all! They also mark interactive collaborative displays and decor with that they are most grateful for. Common expressions of thanks this year were for food, family, pets, unified sports, and for close friendship.

MyCIL headquarters staff joined TSC students who were proud to socialize and share about themselves by welcoming guests with warmth and hospitality for faces new and old. This is something headquarters staff look forward to all year!

We maxed out the picture limit for posts - so check out some extras below in the comments!

We wish you the very best this Thanksgiving season and always!
