MyCIL Center For Independent Living

MyCIL Center For Independent Living MyCIL — Your Center for Independent Living. This empowerment gives more control over their lives.

Empowering people with disabilities to live independently and thrive in their communities. 💙
Home of the Transitional Skills Center & ACES$ Financial Management Services serving Self-Directed programs. Persons with disabilities want to decide how to live their lives, determine what supports they need, and how to consume their resources within their own means, just the same as anyone in the general population does. Independent Living gives adults with disabilities and families of children with disabilities more control over their budgets and how their resources are consumed. These individuals will experience more freedom and choice, resulting in a better quality of life. The ability to select their own Caregivers with the expectation of satisfactory performance on their part.

The number of college students who register as having a disability has increased across the country. Nowhere has that trend been more pronounced — or debated — than at Stanford University.

Celebrating Awareness, Advancing Independence Nationwide

While many followers on our page are located in Northeast PA and participate in our CIL and TSC services, some may not realize that since 1995 MyCIL has operated ACES$ Financial Management Services - a division providing FMS services for individuals self-directing their care.

We proudly serve Veterans and participants in Pennsylvania’s self-directed PACE program through SeniorLIFE, and extend our services nationally across states including Illinois, Wyoming, and Washington. This reach makes MyCIL/ACES$ the largest nonprofit FMS organization nationally that is also a Center for Independent Living (CIL).

What truly sets us apart is our people - over 51% of our staff have a disability, and many others have family members with disabilities. This lived experience fuels our passion and commitment to deliver the highest level of service - nothing less than what we would expect for ourselves and our own families.

As many know, March is National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, and we were honored to be part of a special moment in Wyoming:

🎗️ AWARENESS MONTH: Governor Mark Gordon officially proclaimed March 2026 as Developmental Disability Awareness Month in Wyoming, recognizing the value and contributions of individuals with developmental disabilities.

⮑ Congratulations to all self-advocates, families, and organizations championing inclusion! This proclamation reminds us that our communities are strongest when everyone is supported, heard, and empowered.

We were thrilled to attend this meaningful event alongside the Wyoming Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities and many Wyoming advocates. Special thanks to our Wyoming Program Director, Paige Crawford, for representing ACES$ so well!

It's about time!

With use of the word "re****ed" on the rise, a new advertising campaign is urging people to leave the term in the past much like many other outdated practices that were once commonplace.
