Our BSW students in SW-150: Introduction to Field Education wrapped up the semester with meaningful hands-on learning in the community! π
π United Neighborhood Centers (10/21/2025)
Students toured the Community Services Building and learned about services including Angels Attic, case management, food drives, and local partnerships serving Lackawanna County. They also explored what junior and senior field internships with UNC could look like.

Executive Director Peg Ruddy, LSW shared the agency's history, how services are developed and delivered, and ways students can get involved through volunteering, internships, and employment.

Students toured the facility and learned about social work in detox and inpatient rehabilitation settings. Executive Director Michael Arcangeletti, LCSW, CADC, an alum of the Marywood School of Social Work, discussed internships, career opportunities, the admissions process, and how social workers make a difference for individuals navigating addiction.
