What is Alchemy in couples relationship therapy?

My process is to sit and observe the precious elements right in front of me, break them down through the lens of a medical, psychological, and family of origin lens, and then mix the elements of this formula to find an end to perpetuating painful relationship cycles.

I'm really excited to announce that I am starting a consultation group for couples therapists!

It is for couples therapists wanting to get better at conceptualization for difficult couples/stuck points & help couples go deeper when the therapy stalls. It's something I've been able to figure out from pulling together multiple couples therapy models and all my years doing couples work. I really miss teaching and love helping other therapists understand the deeper dynamic and be able to explain it to their clients in a simple way, often with drawings so they can understand it.

Exciting news!

This Monday 6/21 on fb live, Mary B. Rower, RN, LCSW joins me for a conversation on the Alchemy of Relationships!

Mary is a couple’s therapist with extensive training in multiple models for couple’s therapy and years of clinical experience. She knows that for many couples, the work goes faster and deeper when you take a step back to “diagnose” their main struggles and “see” their stuck and painful dynamics. She often draws her clients a diagram of what patterns lie underneath their painful repetitive processes in order to understand and begin practical interventions.

Mary’s strength lies in her ability to assess and determine a clear path for difficult cases. She loves helping other therapists see the possibilities in their work and is often looked to for guidance by many of her colleagues when they are stuck with a couple and not sure where to go.
