Some good news about cancer. This January, the American Cancer Society released its 70th annual Cancer Facts and Figures. This is the most highly-cited report documenting cancer trends, and within it was shared that the US has continued to see a decline in cancer death rates since they peaked in 1991. In fact, since 1991, the death rate from cancer has declined by 31%, which translates to approximately 3.2 million lives saved due to the progress made in better prevention, early detection, and treatment of cancer.
