ā ļø PLEASE STOP GIVING OUT YOUR MEDICARE ID NUMBER! ā ļø
I need to warn you because this is happening more than everāand itās hurting people who didnāt mean to do anything wrong.
In the last three months alone, several of my clients have had their Medicare plans changed WITHOUT their permission because they:
Called the insurance company directly with a question, or
Answered a call from a random call center, or
Gave their Medicare ID number to someone who ājust needed to verify information.ā
ā The moment you give out your Medicare ID number, they can switch your planāand they DO NOT care what happens to you.
And hereās the worst part:
Clients were lied to.
Their plans were changed behind their backs.
Medicare wonāt let them file a grievance because āyou gave your number out.ā
I canāt undo it until the next enrollment period.
If I ever did something like that, I would be written up, investigated, and could lose my license. But call centers donāt careābecause they donāt work for you.
ā
Please protect yourself:
Do NOT give your Medicare ID number to:
Your planās customer service line
Call centers or telemarketers
Anyone calling to āverify informationā
Anyone offering a ābetter plan,ā āfree benefits,ā or āupdatesā
ā
Who CAN you share it with?
Only meāyour licensed agent who represents YOU and reviews your benefits EVERY YEAR.
I work hard to keep you in the right plan, with the right doctors, medications, and benefits. But if you give your number to strangers and they change your plan, I canāt fix it until the next enrollmentāsometimes months later.
Please hear me on this:
STOP giving your Medicare ID number to anyone except me.
Those people donāt care about youāI do.
If youāre ever unsure, CALL ME FIRST.
Iād rather answer a quick question than try to fix a mess later.
Thank you for trusting me,
Betty Jo
