☀️ Summer is around the corner — is foot pain holding you back?

Warm weather means more time on your feet — but nagging issues like heel pain, bunions, neuromas, or old injuries can make walking and enjoying summer activities uncomfortable.

At Southern Delaware Foot & Ankle, we help you understand the root cause of your foot and ankle pain. Our team will guide you step-by-step with personalized care plans, education, and strategies to relieve pain — whether that means custom orthotics, supportive footwear, home exercises/physical therapy, or even surgical solutions when needed.

Your path to pain-free feet starts with the right guidance — let’s get you summer ready.

Today is National Bunion Day—a great reminder that bunions are more than just a bump on the toe. They’re a progressive joint deformity that can lead to pain, stiffness, and difficulty walking if left untreated.

At Southern Delaware Foot & Ankle, our doctors are trained in the newest bunion correction technologies, including:
• Minimally invasive bunionectomies
• Lapiplasty® 3D bunion correction
• Nanoplasty™

If you’re dealing with bunion pain or changes in your foot structure, don’t wait. Modern treatments can help restore both function and comfort.

🌿🌸 Spring is Here! Keep Your Kids’ Feet Happy & Healthy This Sports Season ⚽🏀⚾

Warmer weather means more outdoor fun, from soccer and baseball to running and playground adventures! 🌞 But before your kids jump back into their favorite sports, here are a few foot health tips to keep them active and injury-free:

👟 Check Their Shoes & Cleats – Kids’ feet grow fast! Make sure their sneakers and cleats fit properly, with about a thumb’s width of space in the toe box. Tight shoes can cause blisters, while loose ones can lead to instability and injuries.

🦶 Support Matters – Choose shoes with good arch support and cushioning. For high-impact sports, consider custom or over-the-counter orthotics to prevent heel pain and discomfort.

🏃‍♂️ Ease Into Activity – After a winter break, sudden intense sports activity can lead to injuries like heel pain (Sever’s disease) or shin splints. Encourage stretching and gradual increases in activity to prevent overuse injuries.

🩹 Watch for Red Flags – If your child complains of persistent foot pain, swelling, or limping, don’t ignore it! Early care can prevent bigger problems later.

🌿 Spring is all about movement and fun—let’s make sure our kids’ feet are ready for the season!
