Our MEPN nursing students recently attended Nurses Day at the Capitol in Little Rock, Arkansas, where they experienced firsthand how nurses lead beyond the bedside through advocacy and professional engagement.

During this annual event, nurses and students meet with legislators to discuss priorities that impact patients and the profession, including strengthening the nursing workforce, supporting safe staffing, promoting nurse wellbeing, and improving access to care across Arkansas. Graduate level education transforms clinical knowledge into leadership, empowering nurses to advocate for patients and shape healthcare policy with confidence.

Students also enjoyed exploring the Arkansas State Capitol, including a stop at the State Treasurer’s Office where they had the unique opportunity to hold a $500,000 stack of cash and learn more about how state government operates behind the scenes.

We are incredibly proud of our students for stepping forward, embracing leadership, and representing the future of nursing with passion and purpose.

Brittney Clark ABSN-Rogers

Harding ABSN was a program that I can say truly changed my life. I was looking to be a part of something that would allow me to build my faith, develop long lasting friendships/family, and build a career that revolved around serving the community. I am a mother and wife, during my time at Harding I felt overwhelmed by the love and support of my classmates and teachers when I just wanted to quit and be at home with my family. I was pushed and challenged in ways that made me the nurse I am today. Through this program I developed the care and compassion needed to make a difference for my patients and being a servant of Christ. Harding allowed me to have the skill set to become a Charge Nurse on a step-down ICU and a daisy nominee as they teach core values that help you excel in nursing care. I’m beyond blessed and thankful for the continuous support I receive from my teachers and Harding as I continue my journey.

Congratulations, Brittney!

I’m pleased to share that Harding University has been ranked #1 in Arkansas in our 2025 RN program rankings.

This recognition is based on a weighted average NCLEX pass rate over the past three years, using the number of test-takers as the weight and applying a recency factor to prioritize the most recent results. For 2025, Harding’s weighted 3-year NCLEX pass rate is 98.11%. You can review our full methodology here: https://www.nursingexplorer.com/methodology

The Family Nurse Practitioner students who were on campus for intensives this week, spent some time with Morgan Elam and Wally Thomas from Harding's PA program to learn suturing basics. We are thankful for our PA colleagues and their willingness to share in interprofessional collaboration.

This is the LAST reminder for the Harding Nursing Student Association (HNSA) wreath fundraiser happening now. If you go to tinyurl.com/HNSAwreath, you can order a live wreath that will be shipped to any address you chose. Shipments start the first week of December, and make great decorations for yourselves or to share as a gift. The wreath company sells these until they are gone, which often happens in mid to late November, so now is the time to order!

HNSA gets a portion of each wreath sold, which supports our students in service projects and attending national conventions. Any support is much appreciated!
