Imbolc Blessings

Imbolc falls on February 1st and marks the middle point between Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. Also known as Candlemas, the day signifies the onset of spring...the stirring of new life beneath the hard ground. This is the season of new beginnings, hope, inspiration, and preparation for the year ahead. The land lies in darkness and the ground is frozen, while the sun gains momentum for the coming months. The intentions we planted at Winter Solstice are deep in the fertile ground, gestating and now coming into conception. Like a fertilized egg in the womb, they are gathering strength and growing.
It is traditional during Imbolc to light a lamp or candle in each room at dusk to honor the sun’s rebirth & light the path ahead. It is high time for magic...rituals for burning off & releasing as well as dreaming of the intentions we wish to bring to fruition over the coming months.

Imbolc honors Brigid, the pagan Goddess of fire, hearth & home, healing & poetry. She is the Triple Goddess, but at Imbolc she is in her Maiden aspect signifying rebirth.
Let Imbolc and February (the love month) inspire you to call upon the Goddess to stoke that inner fire (it is a fire festival after all!) and give rise to the feminine force that resides within the hearts of all beings. This fire prepares for our rise into the spring, a season of new life. We are calling upon the divine feminine to guide us through, knowing a new season awaits us.
