There is nothing better than an impromptu Happy Hour! Neawanna by the Sea strives to create a comfortable home environment for our residents with loving care & of course, fun!

We have a weekly happy hour but this week the residents requested an additional happy hour after dinner so that’s what happened. Several residents joined upstairs to visit, listen to music, and enjoy a few snacks!

We all enjoy visiting with family & friends ~ please come join us for some good’ol fashioned fun!

Happy National Activity Directors Week 🥳 All of us at Neawanna by the Sea would like to Thank Helen for everything she does for our residents, staff, & community! Helen has a lot of fun with the residents whether it’s playing a card game, sewing club, preparing some type of tasty treat for happy hour or a National Day for various pie days, ice cream days, etc. plus shopping days & outings.

Today Lori and Diane enjoyed a great morning crafting with our residents.
We created a valentine centerpiece made from glasses, flowers, greenery and many different types of hearts.

The monthly choice for Diner’s Delight was the New Garden Asian Restaurant in Seaside,Oregon. The residents of Neawanna enjoy going out to a different restaurant for an evening out with friends.

Gathering together with friends to bake pies and spend the morning socializing.

It is National bake a pie day. Wanda, Karen, Eileen, Steve and Ann began their morning mixing together Apple, cherry and banana cream pies to share with everyone.

What if you want to make a pie but don’t really have a lot of time to make a crust and don’t just want a plain crust? Well grab a can of cinnamon roll dough, roll it out into a pan. Place your apple pie mixture, or cherry pie mixture (can be any kind of fruit) and bake.
Yum- a quick easy treat for all to enjoy.

Then add a little (or a lot) of whipped cream based on your taste.

We enjoyed a Christmas party with lots of food, fun games, and great friends.

Santa popped in from his travels to see us and helped hand out gifts to all the residents before he flew back to the North Pole.

Frosty the snowman got a face lift this year at Neawanna by the sea. Our residents chose a bottle of varying sizes and their favorite colors of beads. We created glass snowmen and then added a happy face. A winter wonderland design to brighten up the holidays

Each week residents pick the learning topic about History around the world with this weeks theme of wonders of Kenya.

There is the Tsavo Preserve that has Rhino and elephant conservation. The Maasai Mara has the largest migration of wildabeast and zebra. The Nairobi National Park is closest to the capital.

Betty spent time visiting Kenya and the different preserves while on leave while she was serving in Saudi Arabia. Her favorite was seeing the giraffe and zebras. The sights were breathtaking as she traveled. She decided to go on a safari with a guide and a few others. It is amazing to learn about places that have been visited around the world.
