Neawanna by the Sea would like to thank North Coast Family Fellowship for the honor of participating in the trunk or treat festivities. It was fun to have a booth and watching all of the community children come to play and see all the different costumes. Children and seniors thrive together. Come join us for fun and games.

Finally part 3– harvest carnival. The fire department came to Neawanna to talk with the children about safety and Halloween. The theme was fire alarms and safety. Do you know how often you check your fire alarms or change the batteries in the alarms that are in your house? What person doesn’t like climbing through the fire trucks and pretend to be a firefighter. Everyone that came got the opportunity to play in the trucks.

Part 2–As we continue with the harvest carnival, Verna had bean bag basketball. It is amazing how hard kids can throw bean bags. Ann and Bruitus were having fun with throwing beanbags into a pumpkins face. Karen was behind the desk bowling with the kids. Can we get a strike.
There is so much fun when our seniors get together for games to play.

Anchor Christian Academy arrived at Neawanna for the annual harvest carnival. We had nine booths for the kids to visit. Helen was at the hungry hippo, the kids had to put as many balls in a bucket as possible.
Jamie and Eileen were in the dining room with ladderball. Kids through the balls and thought it was fun when they missed and bounced on the floor. The cake walk was led by Phil and Wanda.

Today is National First Responder Day and we would like to celebrate our local firefighters, police, and medic personnel. These amazing people are the first to come when there is any sort of emergency. We appreciate what you do for the community of Seaside, Gearhart, and Cannon Beach and for our residents. Thank you for all you do.

Our residents are getting ready to welcome many K-3 through 2nd graders for Neawanna’s Annual Harvest Carnival with Anchor Academy. Packing Halloween goody bags full of sweets & treats with a morning full of fun and games planned.

Residents & staff team up to run different games stations, the kids get a visit from the Seaside Fire Department with safety tips for trick or treating & to top it off they get tour the fire trucks!

Our residents at Neawanna by the Sea spent time together today talking & laughing while preparing homemade animal treats for the dogs at Clatsop County Animal Shelter. Helen, Eileen, Ann, and Wanda were busy making organic dog treats that are made with a simple recipe with oatmeal, bananas, and peanut butter.

We are looking forward to going out & about tomorrow to share the homemade treats with our furry friends at the animal shelter. There are several dogs & cats at the shelter that would love to find a forever home!

A night out with friends for dinner. The South Jetty Restaurant has a great variety on their menu — the special was chicken fried steak, some of our residents had fish and chips. We all enjoyed an evening of good friends and good food. We hope to see you on our next trip.
