Wrapping Up the First Half of the School Year with YLP!

Our December Youth Leadership Program session closed out the first half of the school year with a powerful discussion on Choices & Consequences / Illegal Activity — highlighting how decisions made today can have a lasting impact on one’s future.

A special thank you to Deputy Robert Harris III of the Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Department, along with his colleagues, for serving as our guest speakers. They shared critical insights, practical tips, and real-world guidance that encouraged our YLP members to be productive members of society and leaders in their communities, promoting safety, responsibility, and care.

We’re proud of our youth for their engagement and commitment to growth!

🎉 Congratulations to Our Customer Service Certification Graduates! 🎉

We’re proud to celebrate The Training Source’s 3rd and final CSC Cohort of 2025! These outstanding Certified Guest Service Professionals achieved the highest exam scores of the year, earning an impressive 94% average. 👏

We’re especially proud to highlight our own Damari Delaine, Outreach & Engagement Specialist, who successfully completed the program alongside the cohort. Even more exciting — two graduates secured job interviews during their second week of training!

Hello to All Dislocated and Laid Off Federal Workers,

It has been great connecting with you all over the last few months across our various outreach engagement efforts. I would like to thank you for your interest in our programs and would like to announce the commencement of our NEW training program for Federal workers and contractors who have been laid off and or displaced.

The Federal and Dislocated Workers Career Transition, Upskills and Workplace Readiness Training Program will commence December 15, 2025. The first step in enrolling in this program is to attend our Virtual Information Session which will be held December 5, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. To 11:00 a.m.

🎓 Celebrating Our OPST Cohort-2 Graduates!

Our 8-week Office & Professional Services Training (OPST) Program Cohort-2 successfully completed professional soft skills and technical office training. All graduates passed the Customer Service Certification exam, averaging 89%, earning the title Certified Guest Service Professional!

A heartfelt moment came from the grandmother of our youngest participant, thanking our team for creating a safe, supportive space that fosters professional and personal growth. 💙

Cohort-2 is now completing Microsoft Office Suite training and preparing for Phase 2 — job search readiness, application support, and trending workshops.

💼 Supporting Our Federal Workers!

Today, Chair Edward Burroughs III joined Dr. Marquez Ball, President of 100 Black Men of Prince George’s County, and several members of the organization to announce the $1 million Federal Employee Relief Fund providing at least $1,000 in emergency assistance to federal workers in District 8 who’ve been affected by job cuts or furloughs this year.
