C-section Awareness Month is a reminder to acknowledge something many moms quietly carry.
The ones who were told everything looks “fine,” but your body still doesn’t feel the same.
The ones still noticing tightness, sensitivity, or symptoms long after the incision healed.
There’s often more happening beneath the surface of recovery than most women are told.
If this resonates, I wrote a deeper guide on integrative C-section recovery and what supports healing from a whole-body perspective.
Comment BLOG and I’ll send it your way.

You’re not imagining it.

After having a baby, your body can feel achy, tight, and unfamiliar.

You rest. Stretch. Try to strengthen.

But something still doesn’t fully shift.

Many women are told this is just motherhood or “normal postpartum recovery.”

But when symptoms last months or years, there’s usually more happening beneath the surface.

Postpartum can feel like menopause because both involve major hormonal shifts that affect joints, muscles, and recovery.

But postpartum is not permanent.

It’s a temporary pause in reproduction while the body is still repairing, recalibrating, and rebuilding after pregnancy and birth.

That changes what healing actually requires.

In my work, I use The Restore Method:
Stabilize → Rebuild → Strengthen

If your body is hurting after baby, this is for you.

Follow for more on an upcoming class about postpartum pain and what actually helps.

Most people think pain is about where it shows up.
But that’s not always where it starts.
Years after having a vaginal tear from birth, my hip slowly got tighter and tighter.
No pelvic pain.
No obvious “scar symptoms.”
Just this persistent tension that never fully resolved, despite doing all the right things like exercise and bodywork.
Then I tried microcurrent scar release therapy.
And within one session, something changed and it caught me off guard.
I wasn’t expecting that kind of change, especially not that quickly.
And that’s when it really clicked:
Sometimes the reason progress feels slow (or nonexistent) isn’t because you’re not doing enough.
It’s because something deeper hasn’t been addressed yet.
Scar tissue can hold tension in ways that aren’t always obvious.
It can influence movement, stress signaling, and pain patterns, even in areas far from the scar itself.
This doesn’t mean every treatment is a quick fix.
But it does mean:
👉 If you’ve been doing everything “right” and still feel stuck, there may be a missing piece.
And when you find it, your body can respond in ways that feel surprisingly fast—and relieving.

If this resonates, this is something I talk more about in my webinar on postpartum pain + healing.
Or if you’re ready to look at your own patterns more closely, you can schedule a Foundational Health Review Call.
Your body is always communicating. Sometimes we just need the right lens to understand it.

Good news 🎉

Sembhi Integrative | Early Motherhood Wellness will begin accepting Premera BlueCross starting April 13th, with additional insurance carriers to be announced soon.

This is an important step toward making holistic, root-cause women’s health care more accessible for families who want comprehensive medical support without feeling limited to short visits or symptom-only care.

If you have Premera, you may now be able to use your insurance for medical visits, including initial consultations, follow-ups, and lab-based treatment planning.

If you’ve been waiting for this, now is a great time to reach out and check your coverage.

Link in bio to schedule or learn more.

Warmly,

Are we there yet?🤪

This is one of the first things I do when I get out of the car after a drive with the kids to help unwind and release neck tension.

Whether you are on a road trip or trying to get out of the house in the morning, it’s easy for muscle tension to build up.

Trigger points especially those in the neck and shoulders can lead to pain, headaches, trouble sleeping, the body feeling stuck in stress state, and difficulty unwinding.

One of the keys to effectively releasing trigger points is holding gentle pressure for about 90 seconds.

It can also feel great to use a magnesium lotion when doing this.

More to follow on ways to reduce the body’s stress signals and reduce pain as a mom or mom to be. Follow for more! And save this for your next trip!

Your stress response shapes everything in motherhood from energy, mood, hormones, sleep, and how smoothly your body moves through postpartum recovery and the transition into menopause.

The goal isn’t to eliminate stress (that’s impossible as a mom).
The goal is to help your body respond to stress in a healthy, resilient way so it can recover, regulate, and rebalance.

Here are simple, accessible ways to support a healthy stress response:

• Support restorative sleep as much as possible (even small improvements make a difference)
• Practice daily nervous system regulation like HeartMath or breathwork
• Move your body regularly - gentle, consistent movement is powerful
• Spend time outside and get natural light and fresh air
• Replete essential nutrients (ideally guided by labs so your body gets what it truly needs)
• Make space for laughter and connection with people who make you feel safe and supported

None of this has to be complicated or perfect.

Small, consistent habits help your nervous system feel safer.
And when your body feels safe, it regulates stress better.

When stress regulation improves, many moms notice:
more stable energy,
better mood,
improved sleep,
more hormone balance,
and a smoother transition through postpartum and into midlife.

Simple supports can create meaningful change over time.

Follow for more if you want more energy, a steadier mood, and a more supported postpartum and menopause transition.

I hear this from so many moms:
“I want another baby, but… recovering last time was brutal. I still don’t fit in my jeans. Some days I’m so exhausted I don’t even want to get out of bed. My drive never came back. Intimacy is painful. How are we going to make another baby? What if I can’t handle another loss?”

If this hits home, you are not alone. Feeling drained, overwhelmed, or disconnected from your body doesn’t mean you’re failing — it means your body and mind are asking for support.

Motherhood is demanding, and recovery is not linear. But there is a way to rebuild your strength, energy, and confidence so you feel more like yourself again, before trying for another baby.

Tonight, take a deep breath. You are doing sacred work and you are amazing.

Save this if it resonates, and follow along for more guidance on postpartum and preconception wellness

If the only clothes that feel tolerable anymore are oversized sweats and t-shirts, you are not alone.

For a lot of women, this is not just about appearance.
It is about feeling puffy, inflamed, uncomfortable, bloated, exhausted, and not at home in your body.

And after having a baby, it is easy to tell yourself this is just how it is now.
That you should be grateful.
That you should try harder.
That this is just part of motherhood.
But often, your body is not asking for more pressure.
It is asking for better support.

Save this if you’ve felt this way.

Btw I’m not saying you should give up your favorite hubby sweats, I never will 😜
