There are different kinds of headaches and migraines. There's even a diagnosis of silent migraine. If you have a diagnosis of a specific type of migraine or headache, I'd love to hear your story your symptoms whatever you feel like sharing about what's working or not to treat symptoms. Feel free to DM to chat or please comment here if you're wanting to explore this conversation in a larger group. Wouldn't online support be helpful from time to time? Since these damn screens could be blamed for about 50% of our stress anyway?
I think ha/mig is often under diagnosed. I'm not the one to diagnose obviously ✌️I just rub out the kinks and help the body digest pain and inflammation 💆‍♀️🙏❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🔥🌧️💫 so grateful to be able to do that for people to the best of my learning capabilities during this crazy world shift and amidst a highly stressful time for us all.

Vascular headache is an outdated term. These headaches are now classified as migraines, cluster headaches, and illness-related headaches.

I'm no mental health guru but I'm pretty sure it all starts with how we talk to ourselves.

I've discovered my inner critic to be a force to be reckoned with, a wild ego-filled, dripping with guilt and shame, stubborn old hag.
In the words of Samuel L Jackson in the movie Pulp Fiction, "I told you this B #@*& was crazy!" Maybe you can relate.

Thank you for this list on how to battle the inner critic. Always important work.

I think many people get run down and forlorn during times of collective stress. In the wake of 2020 with a worldwide pandemic, death, illness and fear of illness, lockdowns, economic downfalls, recent child suicides, the neverending intense divisiveness in the political climate, the public health questions, we come up for air and take stock. Let us not let the heavy load of emotional, mental, and physical stress make us turn on ourselves. I continually search for what I CAN control today, in this moment. It starts with how I talk to myself. From there I can take action. I've also found more self-compassion leads to greater compassion for others. Whether I agree with them, understand them, like them or not.

We are still all in this together. Whether you feel unified or not, I love you and I hope you find self-love today too. Keep sharing that kindness with others. We all need it.

I've been carrying this quote around on a little piece of origami paper for years. I had picked it up at a therapist's office and I don't know who wrote it. But I like it. Does it resonate with you too? What in your system needs to be remembered, connected, unified with the rest of us?

"Healing is remembering what has been forgotten about connection, and unity, and interdependence among all things living and nonliving"

Regretfully, my massage practice is now set on hold for some months...again. Partly this is due to the rising COVID cases in King County, and because I want to quarantine to spend time with my family for Christmas. Then, in the new year, my fiance, Charles and I are going to hibernate near Joseph, Oregon. I will keep you in the loop of my plans but as of now, we plan on being back in March. There is also a possibility of coming back in February for a week to work. I hope to massage again soon! In the meantime, I plan to be more active on this page with self-care tips and stress and migraine hacks. Also, our products are available at the Jenerous Bodycare shop! Check out our Self Compassion Tool Kit! It makes a great stocking stuffer for anyone needing some extra TLC! Happy Holidays, stay safe and healthy my friends.

Happy hollydays! We got crafty yesterday and made a wreath with cedar and holly branches, and those wild pronged garden weeds I still don't know the name of. And the frame was from an old busted massage table that was destined for the dump. Turns out that plywood was perfect for the cause! I think it turned out pretty great! Kinda wild and heart shaped but I like it.

If you're feeling touch deprived during these months, you're not alone. Research here shows that a soothing stroke on your skin at 3 cm/second sends positive neurotransmitters to your brain. I'm a big fan of self massage right now, for myself and promoting this to clients. Not everyone is ready for massage therapy again, but you have your hands ready and waiting for you!
